    Drop the video or STFU. You know how many victims of violent crime and domestic violence wish they had video evidence? If you have it, use it because right now this looks like a shakedown.

    One thing I’m curious about is if the video is of Ellison dragging her out of bed then who was the third party behind the camera? Or was this just a stationary camera pointed at the bed?

      This situation is like the Chris Hardwick situation, but in a politcal arena. Someone is accused of a heinous act or acts, then the accuser refuses to help prosecute the accused, while still accusing them of said heinous behavior. Doesn’t help anyone at all.

      Per Splinter:

      Representative Keith Ellison’s former girlfriend Karen Monahan will not release the video she says shows Ellison physically abusing her, says a report from MPR News. Monahan’s son posted the accusations against Ellison online last weekend. Monahan later gave a lengthy statement addressing the details of the alleged abuse, and tweeted out several screenshots of conversations between her and Ellison.

    I want to see a full investigation, including reputable third parties looking at the video and confirming whether or not it meets what she alleges. I absolutely hate the fact that this dropped the night before the election, including claims that there’s video, when they refuse to let anyone see it. That came across as a political hit.

    If it’s real, well, this is exactly the opportunity to investigate it. Otherwise, the spurious timing sounds really, really targeted. If what she claims is true, she should have come out with it at the start of the campaign instead of waiting til the last second to pull a “gotcha”

      It came across as a political hit because it was. It was an immoral evil political hit, even if it were true. The only time victim blaming should exist is for not reporting things at an appropriate time (like years before/when they happen).

      Everything about this is a “political hit.” Even if a video never surfaces, or all the accusers disappear tomorrow, headlines like on this article will follow forever. Weaponized “alleged abuse.”

      The Loaded Question:

      A loaded question is a question with a false or questionable presupposition, and it is “loaded” with that presumption. The question “Have you stopped beating your wife?” presupposes that you have beaten your wife prior to its asking, as well as that you have a wife.

    Hmm. I’ve met him several times at Muslim-American events when he was here in DC as a congressman, and I have to say, although I know people have public and private faces, I find the allegations very hard to stomach.

    That said, if they are true, then shame on Keith for letting us all down. But I really, really do not want to believe anything like about him without proof.

    Party 1: “No you can’t because if people are required to provide the evidence they claim exists then future victims won’t be believed”
