It’s beyond sickening that Black cops will put being a cop over being Black any day of the damn week.

It’s exactly why we’ve always said that the institution of law enforcement is a problem and not just white cops. Stupid ass trolls in the grays always seem to miss that point.

THIS is exactly the type of fuckery I talk about when I say the institution is a problem.

The institution is created and run by white supremacy, don’t forget that.

    There are no good cops.

This is the part that terrifies me the most, the idea that a person who will have a nice conversation with you, who visits schools, who is ‘Officer Friendly’ is also the person who explicitly believes himself to be the thin blue line between good people and criminals in equal proportion, who will ignore blatant crime when committed by his peers, who hates internal affairs even more than others hate the police. Their unabashed hypocrisy about ‘snitches’ and a ‘culture of crime’ that supposedly exists in Black communities is put on full display every time a cop stands by and holds back the rightfully angry observers in baltumore, agrees to lie about a man running away in charleston, arrests distraught sisters instead of giving first aid in cleveland, harasses witnesses to illegal choke holds in new york...

    really though

we really got beef with the po-po

    never know

when they might put you in a chokehold...

Haven’t we known for over 40 years, since the sociological experiments of the 70's, that power is an inherently corrupting influence? That it doesn’t matter if someone is a “nice guy” or not, if you put him in a position of power over another human being, he will abuse that power?
So why is there always this talk of preventing “bad guys” from being in positions of power, but never any talk of putting that power in check? Of preventing the institutional and systematic abuse of that power?

We can do this by changing laws. But we don’t do that. Because, deep down, most voters like fascism when it comes to law enforcement. So until we either tell those voters to go fuck themselves because absolutism should be intolerable in America or people stop believing that making everyone they don’t like disappear will make the world safer...yeah. No good cops.

There is so much popular television that hails fascism.  NCIS is the worst example, but CSI is also a culprit.  We are supposed to get upset if someone ever gets off for something they PROBABLY did, even though that’s not the burden, and when cops break the rules to put someone in jail, we should cheer.

A good cop is supposed to stop a crime in progress. A good cop is supposed to arrest criminals. A good cop is supposed to protect the public.

We’ve got too many people out here that hear the word “cop”...& won’t judge or see him as good or bad because their “title struck.” They’ll automatically think he’s right...until he whoops their ass.

“Honorable titles” don’t mean anything...if we don’t gave “good people” to fill those positions.

We keep forgetting to bring up the fact that “bad people” don’t need to be hired for positions of power. And bad people like applying for those honorable jobs that they don’t deserve because they know they can fool people.

We don’t need to see the title “cop, teacher, preacher etc” & automatically expect that they are good or they’re in the right. They’re still just flawed human beings.

Too many people lazily let seeing a title override their common sense.

Bad people choose positions where they can abuse power on those they don’t like. Child molesters apply to where they have access to kids, same thing with racists, rapists & thieves.

I saw the video yesterday and two things came to mind.

    1. Obviously, this was personal with the dude. No one throws hands like that and there not be a wife/girlfriend/family member somewhere in the equation or at the very least, someone said some not so flattering words about his momma. Add to the fact that I’m sure he knew there was a cell phone camera in the vicinity.

    2. If you look closely, his taser fell out of his holster while he was swinging. Can’t help but think if someone picked it up and tased him while it was happening. I’m sure the other brother would have “feared for his life” and did what they normally do in those situations but I can’t help but wonder.

Maybe this is what Laura Ingraham was talking about when she was asking Bryan Watkins about black on black crime?

Here’s an irony. Does anyone think the powers that be will be tougher on him because he’s a black cop?
