    You live in a state named “California.” The name comes from the mythical Spanish island paradise of Califia.

    Sonoma and Petaluma are Native American names.

    And California wasn’t even part of the United States until 1846, when the United States was all about stealing land from Native Americans and neighboring countries.

    So this specimen of Honkus americanus needs to sit down and shut the fuck up and be grateful that he is privileged enough to live in a place with some of the best goddamn Mexican food.

    (Honestly, how someone living in a county with the best wine, beer, and marijuana in the country, can be an uptight asshole is beyond me)

      There’s a lot of legacy white tra—uh, excuse me, “Redneck-Americans”—left over in both the Bay Area and SoCal. Most of them have filtered out into the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valleys (Bay Area) or Arizona/Vegas (SoCal), but a lot still remains.

      Most of these guys either still live with their parents or inherited their parents’ or grandparents’ houses, because they could never afford to buy or even rent the places where they live. (The Mexican and non-elite Asian families that have largely displaced the Redneck-Americans have multiple adults in the household working to pay the mortgage.)

    My fiance is from Petaluma and it IS a pretty red-necky place in CA. Went there once to see the house she grew up in. Have no desire to go back. Neither does she really.

    Also kinda funny my dad (black) LOVES Crosby, Stills, and Nash. I kinda like em too.
