When travelling through the south you can just feel it. They have little to no regard for life. Obviously the racism is a big part of it, but don’t fool yourself. It’s life in general that they have no regard for. Being black just makes it even worse.

I once helped a friend move her stuff to Houston from Jackson, Mississippi. The U-haul we were in had a blow out on I-10 not far from the Mississippi line in Hammond, LA. While waiting on help, drivers passing by threw trash and bottles at us several times. They didn’t give a damn that it was 2 women and a toddler.

They have little to no regard for life.

Once it’s born. But in utero? They care for it tremendously. They care for it more than they do the well being of the sinful vessels carrying that life.

I’d really like to know how did my parent’s and ancestors generation deal with hearing shit like this on a regular basis. I just can’t anymore.

“just hit a whole guy” “it’ll buff out” + laughing emoji after being asked did he die?

    Disgusting.

If I ran him over on “accident” I would probably get in trouble. Especially, if I kept up a running tweet and laughed about it. That is so disgusting.

What is up with the “whole guy”? It sounds like bragging that he didn’t just nick him, or tap him a little.

Knowing nothing about Louisiana - are there good samaritan laws there? Because Snapchattin’ about a whole guy isn’t trying to make sure he’s OK and performing what ever level of aid you can.

There are no laws mandating that you provide aid.

Good Samaritan laws protect a person who tries to render aid but ultimately fails. If you perform CPR on someone who later dies, or try to help someone dangling from a cliff and they fall. Their families cannot sue you. You are legally protected from unintended consequences.

If someone needs CPR and you keep walking, you haven’t broken any laws. You’re an asshole, but not a criminal (or have any civil liability.)

What’s sadder is that someone will hire this guy to work for them — one with no regard of human life. Maybe his auto insurance company would take a stand and...aw, who are we kidding? They don’t give a shit either!

On a side note, today is the 2nd anniversary of Philandro Castillo’s murder:

I guess it's time to find out who is dumb enough to hire this piece of shit and inform them of the error of their ways.

The thing of it is. I would have been shocked SHOCKED if Mr. Lewis was accorded the respect he deserves and that White killer was charged with murder or vehicular manslaughter.

I have come to accept that there is a default setting for a majority of Whites. They do not see us. Not seen as equals, not seen as people, not seen at all other than objects for derision.

My heart aches for Sherell, his family and friends. A beautiful man who saw debris on the road, thought of the value of human life and his efforts were rewarded with death and a punchline.

Just because the guy is a callous asshole doesnt mean he was at fault in the accident.  That said , while I dont wish harm on anyone, I wish this man all the bad luck for the rest of his life.
