  I said this in the thread about the congresswoman who was campaigning; it’s already insulting that they think we’re stealing, but it’s more insulting that they think we’re such bad fucking thieves.
  Like, what was the family gonna do? Sit around for an hour, having regular ass family conversations, then suddenly become the black Ocean’s Eleven to steal some soda from water cups and steal the $200-$300 in the register.
  I think I mentioned before that when I was a manager my loss prevention manager kept wondering why I didn’t call the police when I thought someone was stealing, and this shit is why; I didn’t want to guess wrong. Even if I did guess right, I didn’t want some trigger happy officer to assault whoever was stealing.
  White people wonder why people of color don’t trust the police; this shit is why. Any group that exists to put some poor Becky with the Bad Bread at ease at the expense of people of color is not a group any of us can trust.

  The way this sort of thing is clearly being handled nowadays doesn’t work for all business models which is:
  Step 1: Allow your employees to run wild, treating anybody they deem less worthy like garbage. After all, the psychological wage is much cheaper to pay than actual money. If you aren’t going to pay living wages and other benefits, may as well let them be racist shits on the job, so they can feel like BIG PEOPLE WHO HAVE POWER.
  Step 2: When they are inevitably caught and their shitty actions are broadcast all over social media, corporate then acts FOR SHOCKED!!!!1!!! that such a thing occured, and statements are issued: “These actions do not reflect the values of________________.”
  Step 3: Everybody then gets distracted by some other shitty thing on social media and forgets about it.
  Step 4: Repeat.
  So claiming that they are put on things like “Administrative Leave” doesn’t work for all establishments, but give them time. They are still working these things out.

They don’t even make any sense when they call 911. Why would anyone sit around for a freaking hour in a restaurant with cameras everywhere waiting to rob the place? With small children in tow at that. White people can’t even attempt to make any sense when they try to get Black folks arrested.

The only crime committed by that black family was going to Subway’s. Yeah, right Subway has a administrative leave policy. “Um, Jan, we have to take away one of your rankings and bust you down to condiment prep. I’m sorry, Jan, but you can’t go around accusing black people of trying to rob our store of our valuable guacamole stock. We’ve had this discussion before, Jan. Good day.”

Just a reminder that calling 911 frivolously for non-emergencies IS a crime.
For example, in Georgia, under OCGA 16-11-39.2(b)(5),calling 911 with a false report is a misdemeanor punishable by 6 months in jail and/or $500.00.
So, if anyone needs to be locked up, it's the employee.

  I 100% agree that this 911 call was totally frivolous, but it doesn’t sound like it constituted a “false report.” That would be if she called and said “they stole money out of the register” when they didn’t.

  The dispatchers do ask questions about what’s going on and whether it’s an emergency but unless they determine it’s a prank call (and sometimes even then) they’ll send an officer. Better to err on the side of caution.
