This would be a major upset if this guy beat the Emmanuel. Even though that I like Rahm Emmanuel somewhat (I said somewhat) for his forthrightness, I think the Democratic Money Men and Women need a wakeup call. Green or any of the others, would do it.

We need more working people to take the reigns of government in order for fairness to reign.

If Chuy Garcia couldn’t unseat Emmanuel no way in hell this kid is going to.

The biggest thing he’s got going against him is that he had no political connections, which means he has no financial backing. He’s figuratively “who sent you, kid?”

He would actually do better by winning an aldermanic seat.

Maybe. But weirdness can happen. Look whom we have in the Oval Office. That is with the apparent help of Russians and such.

We are not in normal times.

Making cops buy liability insurance is the right thing to do. Other professions have to; there's no reason to give them a pass. Nothing else is keeping them in line that's for damn sure.

While I understand the idea of liability insurance for cops, I don’t agree with it. It’s another way to try to force accountability without addressing the current lack of accountability. Cops simply need to be fired for fucking up. If they are fired for misconduct, they need to be legally blacklisted from law enforcement. Insurance is a scam. Insurance companies are scam artists. We have malpractice insurance for doctors, and the cost makes people reconsider the medical profession. Depending on the state statutes for malpractice, the insurance ends up not being affordable (see: Wisconsin) and doctors leave the state. The potential for malpractice insurance for LEOs to be a racket is too high for insurance companies to be entrusted with it...

Hold the individual departments and precincts accountable for the actions of their officers.  Insurance isn’t the way.
