    I hate people who smoke in contained or restricted areas but this is OUTSIDE in a freaking parking garage !

    I wish black people would stop fueling the narrative of white people being afraid of black people they are NOT. This is not fear its disdain, its feeling that black people are disposable , less than and need to know thier place when a supreme white tells them what to do .

      I was called a militant ex-smoker once upon a time. I always rejected the label, but I was a bit sensitive to people smoking around me. Even still, it would never have occurred to me to call building management, let alone the cops on someone smoking in the parking garage.

      Hell, even if it was an enclosed garage, I couldn’t see calling someone about it.

      As others have said, it's about controlling black folks. Has nothing to do with the supposedly offending behavior...

    OK. It’s probably racial but I have seen non-smokers go all “you can’t smoke here” to pretty much everybody irregardless of color.  Its even worse if they are an ex-smoker. 

    I do find it ironic she is complaining about smoking in place that is already filled with the the byproducts of hundreds of internal combustion engines. She probably sucked in more toxins from her rant in that garage than if she had actually lit up and smoked a cigarette.

    Well I do a little snitching of my own...

    I continuously tell on white people who smoke on Starbucks’ patios. It CLEARLY states on their tables on the outside NO SMOKING. I don’t even talk to them. I don’t even tell them what I’m going to do. I put my stuff down and walk right back in, tell a worker and then come sit back down outside. Worker comes out and handles it. I do it ALL THE TIME!

    They are so indignant when it happens too. I just smirk and read my Kindle and sip my Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato.

    *Don’t come for me about going to Starbucks. IJS. I don’t watch football, K? And I love the Falcons.

    Calling the police is ridiculous and I would love it if people stopped using armed mercenaries as their personal bouncers.

    That said - there are apartment complexes that don’t allow smoking anywhere on their property. Honestly, contacting the Mgmt office over someone repeatedly breaking a known rule wouldn’t get me fussed.  Calling the police is too too much...

      I don’t think I’d call the management unless the people were smoking right by the doors, but frankly, Jessica at the office doesn’t want to have to deal with it- she has real things to worry about like fire exits being blocked or whatever way someone found to clog a toilet this week.

    I’ve seen people pissing in a garage. I’ve seen people fucking in a garage. You know what I’ve done? Nothing, cause it’s none of my damn business (plus I don’t want piss or other people’s sex juice on me). If someone is smoking in the garage and you don’t like it? Here’s a novel idea, walk away and either get in the elevator or you vehicle and move the hell on. It’s not illegal for them to smoke. You’re not the garage monitor. Let that poor woman smoke a cigarette in peace, she probably had a much worse day than you did.

      If she was smoking near the opening of the stairwell that I had to walk through, that would be the problem for me. I am actually allergic to some of the chemicals in cigarette smoke. So people smoking where I have to be is my business. Smokers, no matter their skin color, seem to be the most insensitive, discourteous people. They have no concern for where they smoke or where they dispose of their butts. And cigarette butts have so many chemicals, they should qualify as toxic waste.
