The fact that they didn’t fire is an improvement... and wow that bar is really low now.

It’s like frat guys who brag “yeah, I didn’t even have to roofie her!”. Congrats on having...consensual sex. Or dads that brag about being there for their kids. Well, that’s pretty much your responsibility since you made a baby.

I’m. ....... gonna wait for more info before I pass judgement here. Kidnapping is a serious charge. And a 1M$ bond sounds like some serious s went down on her part.

Would that result in a one million dollar (I sound like Dr. Evil right now) bond though? That sounds like flight risk/danger to the community bail.

Even if she took a small baby or child, drawing your service weapon doesn’t seem like the smartest option. The LAPD aren’t exactly known for their accuracy. If the child had already been recovered, then you’re drawing on an unarmed woman. Not the best example of taking down an unarmed suspect, but not the worst. At least she’s alive. Had this been Cornhole, MS, there would be a chalk outline on the ground next to that car.

It sounds like they had a warrant out for her arrest, and it wasn’t an active kidnapping.

“Sir/Madam, you’re implying that other regions of the country are immune to acts of violence against people confronted by law officers. That’s crazy!

Oh, for the record, we don’t even have a police department.”—Cornhole, MS

Share what I have learned: Never, ever, believe the first few stories cops tell about why someone was arrested.

It’s worse than that. It’s not just that they fantasize it, it’s that they’re trained to do it. Cops are taught by what are essentially mercenary schools of former military and are drilled that their lives are more important than anyone else’s.

They’re not taught to make sure civilians are safe, they’re taught to make sure they are safe and that civilians are the enemy. To err on the side of shooting first and finding (making up) justification later. And because they’re never held accountable for their murders and the fact that police have never been safer, they see it as some kind of success. Meanwhile cops in this country kill over 1000 people a year which makes Trump’s favorite boogeyman MS-13 look like the girl scouts.

Plus they are incentivized to kill whomever they shoot because: 1) there will only be one side to the the story—theirs, and; 2) any liability or damages flowing from a civil suit for wrongful death are generally less than those from a permanent injury.

If you maim someone, then you have to pay for their permanent injury/ loss of enjoyment/ lost wages/ pain and suffering for the rest of their life; if you kill someone, you only have to pay the value of their life up to the point you killed them.

Settlements and jury verdicts for wrongful death can be so much lesser in lifetime value to the deceased persons dependents and heirs than a payments for 50-70 years of convalescent care for the shooting victim. Please see the Florida case from last month where the family was awarded a whole four pennies after the cops murdered their father in his own home https://nypost.com/2018/06/01/family-stunned-after-jury-awards-4-cents-in-dads-death-by-cop/.

Killing black people suspected of anything is an insurance scam perpetrated by police to ensure that a Black life will always matter that much less. That’s why they don’t even draw their guns on White people suspected of mass murder.

Please keep us informed about this woman and her arrest. Because they might even have the wrong person. LAPD is notorious for that type of fuckery. I live in the heart of LA and they are real stupid.

I always question police tactics. Hell, I took a class on it in college, but this story should be updated.  Keith Stewart, Johntae Jones, and Amber Neal  kidnapped two people for ransom.

Past issues with LAPD aside, I see nothing wrong with the procedure so far - based on the information in this article.

The police does not know if the person is armed or not. The felony kidnapping warrant justifies having their gun drawn until the suspect is secured and the threat is over. Pointing a gun at her after she has been secured would be excessive.

As for how she “looked”, there is no “look” that says a person is a not a danger.

While I can see how there may have been potential for excessive force (as the LAPD had done in the past), the article did not mention any.

“The defendants allegedly went to the South Los Angeles home of Daisy McCrackin on May 3, where Stewart pistol whipped Joseph Capone before the defendants placed black hoods over the victims’ heads and purportedly drove them to Jones’ home in Compton. Once there, the defendants allegedly stripped Capone naked and held him without food in a bathtub for 30 hours, the indictment says.

“Meanwhile, Jones and Neal are accused of taking McCrackin’s vehicle, a 2011 red Lexus, and driving her to multiple bank locations while demanding she provide at least $10,000 to them for Capone’s release. McCrackin allegedly was forced to write a check for $10,000 to Neal, who deposited it into her account, according to the indictment.”
