Do blacks and whites in the south make the same food jokes\stereotypes about each other?

It strikes me as sort of odd that the whole fried chicken\watermelon nonsense isn’t really a black thing as much as a southern thing, while the white bland food this is a northern thing. Which leads me to think that this comes from observations by assholes after the immigration to northern cities post Civil War.

I’m white but from the south. I always find the sponsors in Black Jeopardy humerous because my poor white trash family did the same stuff (kind of the point of the Ton Hanks one). My grandmother put everything in old margarine containers and I didn’t have a steak that wasn’t burnt to a crisp until I was 25. We used car tape and always gave grandad the good chair.

I know. I watch Blackish and half of the things Dre mentions as black america I did as a white southern kid. Watermelon was a staple during the summer and we had fried chicken at every family gathering. Hatred for those damn Northerners was prevalent.

That sketch was funny from start to finish. I didn’t think there’d ever be a Black Jeopardy sketch that would top the one with Tom Hanks, but they did it.

and he eventually gets the hang of it for the funny climax of the sketch.

The episode peaked when Panthro came out during the opening monologue. This was a bad show with really bad, lazily-written sketches.
