Michael Schur is already enough to make me watch. Adding Natalie Morales is just icing on the cake.

May it become a Cheers sized hit that makes her a star and gets them to release Middleman on DVD or streaming too, please.

“Middleman” is on DVD. I own the box set. Last thing I ever purchased from a Borders. It was just sitting there. On its own shelf. Waiting for me.

Holy crap it’s available on DVD and streaming. I swear it was unavailable the last time I looked which granted must be far longer ago than it feels.

There are a couple of AV Club articles about The Middleman worth linking to as well:

I was but a lurker back in the days of the show. I should have created an account and sang its praises from the digital mountaintops of that pre-NuDisqus golden age.

Nah, it’s an old car. My dad drove a Fremulon back in the 60s. Good car, reliable, good mileage. Had a lot of fun with that Fremulon.

    Is “The Grinder” worth watching?

The Grinder is one of the greatest shows of all time.

Ehhhhhh, I will be the voice of dissent here and say that it was a great premise, but poorly executed. I didn’t think Fred Savage and Rob Lowe had good comic timing or chemistry together, and I didn’t buy them as brothers. I know that Savage was a great kid/teen actor, but I think now he might be a much better director than actor.

I’ve loved her since The Middleman, but yeah...

The Middleman, Trophy Wife, The Grinder...

If anybody can break that curse, it’ll be Schur.

That’s exactly what I thought! She deserves multiple seasons of something. She was ALMOST enough to get me to watch Powerless.

I’ve loved Natalie Morales ever since The Middleman, which was an awesome show cancelled too soon. She made even the weirdest and silliest bits of dialogue sound convincing.

I think it helps that his characters are good people. I thought andy samberg was a douche on snl but jake peralta is like the best white male on tv. The only times schur writes something bigoted it gets called out immediately by his characters. He didn’t shy away from saying that rosa diaz was bisexual, with that word said more in her coming out episode than in any other episode of tv in history. He’s the ultimate liberal feel good tv writer.

I’d argue he shares that title with Noah Hawley.

There are table-read videos on YouTube of the scripts for the unfilmed final episode of Middleman series 1, and for a crossover comic where the TV and comic versions of the Middleman and Wendy team up with each other.  Both are hilarious.

Who would have thought Mose would be more successful than Dwight? I always wonder if that spin off series would have been good.

I was so happy when they axed that. The backdoor pilot was easily one of the worst episodes of The Office.

      Dub-dub!

I have loved her since The Middleman. Would really love a reunion of her with Brit Morgan (Lacey), with Green Fury from Powerless teaming up with Livewire (who is not dead, shut up) on Supergirl.
