Realizing their mistake, the NRA filled their timeline with more appropriate GIFs from Last Man Standing.

I don’t really understand how one searches for GIFs but wow. You’d think the NRA would try to steer clear of clips from a show that was chock full of good-hearted, anti-child-killing people.

Look it up, seven seasons of P&R and not one school shooting! Even though Greg Pikitis lives in Pawnee.

Deleting Twitter would better rectify the mistake. Just ignore me. I’m just a grumpy old 36 year old that finds social media to be an unholy hellspawn.

Why can’t the NRA just stick to those shitty Charlton Heston GIFs?

The NRA is way ahead of them as they sport a shit-eating grin everytime the conversation of gun legislation, after a horrific mass shooting, drives paranoid gun owners to go out and buy more guns.

I heard LaPierre from a speech this morning saying

      1) elites don’t care about kids otherwise we’d protect them

      2) we oinly care about control, starting with getting rid of the 2nd amendment so that we can abolish individual gun rights, then aboilish ALL individual rights.

so they are saying that as soon as the 2A is gone, the liberals are coming to take away all your other rights too.

Well good luck to them! I, for one, will not be watching new episodes of this show and will be writing NBC to tell them to promptly cancel it and their advertisers to pull all commercials. I’m willing to bet they won’t air a single new episode after this incident! It’s ridiculous that timeless classics like Last Man Standing get cancelled for having the gall to be conservative while trash like P&R stays on the air.

I was legitimately worried people would be like “oh fuck one of those guys” and I’d get a million “Well, actually...” replies.

Maybe they’ll comply when Chris Pratt gets involved.

Who knows how he really feels, but to play devil’s advocate here for a sec, I’m sure there ARE moderate NRA members who oppose the lunacy being propagated by Wayne LaPierre and his band of nut bags. My brother-in-law is a gun collector who I go shooting with for sport and male bonding time with sometimes, and he’s about as sane as they come. He belonged to the NRA at one point, although I’m not sure if he still is. I just don’t think there’s a need to lump each and every one of them together into the same pile automatically.

I enjoy shooting guns and rifles at shooting ranges, but if it meant that not another child would get shot dead in a classroom ever again, I’d never touch another gun for as long as I live.

I know quite a few as well, their voices are important too!

It’s just a shame we have to tell each other about them instead of hearing them speak up on this themselves

This is great, and personally I love it, but doesn’t it play right into their hands? They feed on the outrage of liberal elites.

The fact that Nick Offerman isn’t really a liberal is gonna get buried. He just hates the NRA for making gun-owners look like dicks.

    Notice:

I’m currently rewatching Parks and Rec, and Tom Haverford is the exact same character described in that article about Aziz Ansari.

    Sometimes *verbatim.*

Mike did this. Mike took this character, and gave him validation and humanity and a character arc, and then gave the character all the superficial shit and hot girlfriends he had “earned.”

Then, he turned around and created Boyle for the first season of Brooklyn 99.

Mike has blind spots. They’re massive. And the fact that we’ve heard from the usual suspects in the way we *didn’t* hear from them with Aziz is how we spot bias and regressive bullshit, even in the people who claim to be progressive.

My point is that this show is not the bastion of liberal value it continues to confuse itself for. I love the show. I love it more now that it truly challenges me to see the cracks in its foundations. (And they’re all fuckin’ over, starting with the presumption of moral certainty that has followed Mike’s work right into The Good Place, where people who like Red Hot Chili Peppers go straight to hell. A whole host of trivial ass moral judgements from the guy who built up Aziz, shittiness very much intact for the purposes of entertainment, and then just kinda slid past that situation like the rest of the confused cowards who were complicit. And yeah, I really like The Good Place, too.)
