To be fair, it’s going to be better than whatever Trevorrow, the man who directed The Book of Henry, had planned.

Well, I don’t know, his idea for Broom Kid to write Rose a detailed plan for how to murder his abusive master on Canto Bight just might have been great!

Hard to say, really. Abrams’ co-writer for Force Awakens was Lawrence Kasdan. This time, it’s the guy who helped write both Batman v Superman and Justice League.

I can take any script, add “Cloverfield” here and there, and give it back to the studio at half his fee.

The Cloverfield franchise seems like it’s extremely overrated. One okay-ish movie that comes out 10 years ago and now it’s some beloved franchise?

I’ve seen it twice in the West End, and I’ve seen the original cast’s improv shows three times - incredibly talented bunch of people. The play itself is an absolute delight. You’ll want to be in your seats 15 minutes early - things start going wrong even before the play begins.

I wonder if there’s any changes to the style/accents/etc for Broadway? Obviously the original cast are British (and presumably did it in their normal accents on Broadway), but the new cast are American, so do they alter it? Would it even work as a supposed performance by an American am-dram group?

The replacements are/were/will be Americans but they’ll be Broadway-level actors (ie, the best in the world at what they do) so they’ll just slide in with impeccable accents, just as the Brits do when they do our ultra-American musicals over there. The show won’t change.

It’d be... interesting to see how well they accomplish that. And to see quite how it all (assuming it’s unchanged from the West End) gets received by the audience.

I’m now to the point where I actively eye-roll anytime I see Abrams mentioned.

The evidence is in, the jury has deliberated, and Purina Dog Chow advertising needs this man much more than Hollywood.

And, okay, Abrams did reveal that his as-yet unnamed ninth Star Wars film does have a final script locked in—which is nice, since the thing starts shooting in July.

“It’s...WEIRD, man! Like, they expect us to have fully fleshed-out ideas and shit! BEFORE we film!”

He could also introduce him as the guy who did the sound for Baltimore Troma movie Nightbeast.

One of my favorite high school teachers was in this film. Abrams did the music when he was just 17.

Having seen The Play That Goes Wrong in London, I can assure you that the audience came out way ahead on the deal.

Seriously, see it. It’s fucking magnificent.

A quick check of the plot on Wikipedia makes it seem like The Play that Goes Wrong has a lot of similarities to Noises Off.

Anyone seen it that can tell me why I’m wrong?

Let’s hope the stunt was pre-planned and part of the play’s promotional budget, not that they needed a quick 400 seat-fillers.
