    Wow. High school kids organizing to save themselves from gunfire assault because the adults won’t do it for them.

    I have a feeling future generations of high schoolers will get homework assignments to compare our society to the young adult dystopian fiction that was so popular at the time.

    I’m glad these kids are able to turn their traumatic experience into a discussion about this stuff. It’s awesome they’ve been leveraging their short time in the spotlight (which every survivor has gotten during the 24 hour news cycle until everyone gets bored and then we all just wait for the next one to happen). I just feel so goddamned defeated by all of this, I’ve been trying to vote out my piece of shit congressman basically since I’ve been legally able to vote, I’ve voted for stricter gun laws, and I’ve done everything I feel I can without subjecting myself to the crippling anxiety that would come from attending a massive march (social anxiety disorders are not fun, when in large crowds I tend to have panic attacks) . None of this fucking shit has changed, and I want to hope that maybe, just maybe this time something will be done, but fuck man...I just don’t know

    What I don’t understand is, no one is going to ban guns entirely. Its just going to make then harder to get in the long run and safer for everyone around. You can still gets guns and such in Australia and Canada. Its just more difficult and its a brilliant thing. How is safety not paramount here? How on Earth do you neglect safety and human rights just do you can willfully ignore a piece of legislature context and actively make the world a worse place?

    Like if you think this is a bad thing that you will have less guns and that they are for storing in a fun safe not for carrying down the street yes, you’re probably losing all you’re guns bedcaue you’re clearly a fucking idiot who shouldn’t understand.

    These people are what that barbaric nation needs.
