      Well, she was talking to Entertainment Tonight. Do you think they would have played a more sophisticated response? I don’t know what she knows, but taking a response to ET as a barometer of her level of knowledge probably isn’t fair.

      She has no education beyond HS and I doubt she’s read deeply on these issues. Therefore, she’ll be a liberal Trump, full of misplaced “expertise” on an issue she really doesn’t or cannot understand. We have too many under-educated and inexperienced people trying to make policy in this country. We were better off when we had a Brains Trust making policy.

      Corruption has been an issue since long before CU. Not that I disagree with ending it, but I don’t live under the illusion that that will, in any way, end corruption. I’d be surprised if it even reduced it.

    Why do I feel like her local level is going to be Hollywood?

    Whatever. Good for her for trying to help. She knows that she’s not going to be our savior though, right? This is just a PR thing to make her seem like she’s got depth. How the hell do you get involved politically without being partisan? It’s either partisan or its a big circle jerk that does nothing, so what’s it going to be, Katniss?

    Let’s not pretend this is going to be nonpartisan, it’s going to be liberal.

    I kind of feel like her best chance to reach out to young people all over has passed. Around 2012 would have been ideal, back when she was still able to ride that whole “hey I’m just a regular goofy person who got into movies” persona that made her pretty universally liked. You can’t really keep the whole relatable outsider thing going forever. Several more franchise films, Oscar nominations and severe breaches of privacy later and people just aren’t going to view you the same way. Now no matter what she does she will be starting from the perceived status as “rich liberal Hollywood phony”.

    So she will be 30 by the time her next film hits if she takes a year off then another year to make the next movie. It seems that no one told Ms. Lawrence that her time is ticking to be in front of the camera and she should go all out while she can. But she is rich so it won’t really matter for her. But she will be able to exploit the wage gap when she comes back. But I am glad that she is focusing on her new activism, maybe she can do some good for someone. I am sure her activism will be great for all those people who can’t take a year off their job to be an activist.

      She’ll be fine. She’s in that Sandra Bullock grouping of actresses that are allowed to go into their 40's. It’s the ones below her, like Julia Stiles that have a sell by date. Remember Julia Stiles? No? She was a lady who used to get roles about 15-20 years ago. She might be dead now, for all I know.

      Maybe. But I am not sure her talent is even that of a sandra bullock, who’s best movie was probably Speed or demolition man, when she was 30.

      So IMDB tells me that she (stiles) is in fact still alive and acting....well kinda acting. That is if being Girl #2 in an Amy Schumer is still acting.She was even in a movie with Lawrence in 2012.It also tells me that she is 9 years older than Ms. Lawrence, so let’s circle back on Lawrence and see where she is at 40. I am betting she fades just the same, or like Bullock moves behind the camera to ‘direct and produce impactful films that tell empowering messages for women’
