This is why I never believe that just because someone has high academic achievements it means that they are “smart”. A lot of these type of PhD Bros are competent at their given field of study, but take them out of that element and they are as dumb as ditch water. Way to fuck up your future.

  Working with highly educated people in tech disabused me of that notion real fucking quick. The moment that really stands out for me from my entire time working at Enormous Multinational Software Company as an admin is the time I had to coordinate a multi-office move... I sent an email out to the team I supported asking for anyone with a lock on their office door to let me know if they wanted the lock moved to their new office so they could just keep using the same key they already had, and from the MIT graduate and supposed rock star of the team I received a reply: “I don’t understand what you mean by lock. Can you elaborate?”

It’s ongoing, premeditated hostility toward anybody not fitting certain demographics, and the organization and effort to intimidate; coerce, and marginalize those people.
But, he’ll wear a polo shirt, carry a Tiki torch, and get called probably one of the “good people on both sides”.

The mind-boggling stupidity of people never fails to leave me agape. Wouldn’t this be something that you would do after you’ve graduated from the university and obtained your doctorate? Now alllllll of that time that he’s spent on that doctorate and all of the money he’s invested in his future are *poof* gone, because he’s expelled and he will never, ever get into another doctoral program because he’s radioactive. I guess I should thank him for his professional self-immolation.
