    Christ.

Get out and fucking vote in the midterms people. Having a simple majority in the House conveys essentially absolute control over what goes on in that chamber. Committee chairs are essentially the kings of their committees and the Speaker is essentially the Emperor of the House.

It doesn’t matter if Democrats can’t get to a veto proof majority. Getting clowns like Nunes out of the leadership position of these committees is immensely valuable.

      fixed!

voting happens year round in many jurisditions. here in king county we have special elections on February 13 and April 24.

elections go on all the time...i challange all readers of this post to link their elections leading up to Novemeber. i’m sure there will be more than just the primaries and mid-terms for many.

we can get into attending our council meetings in another thread....but i’m curious how many know when they are. i attend my city’s meetings (1st and 3rd tuesday) and my local water/sewer district (1st, 2nd, 3rd monday) several times a year.

It is definitely important to pay attention to what is going on in elections happening at all times of the year, but I don’t necessarily mind if people in certain situations don’t vote all the time.

For example, when I’ve live in actual city limits, I pay closer attention and make sure to go vote in municipal elections, but when I have lived in unincorporated space, the impact of local elections on you can be a bit more muted unless there are big things going down related to local schools on the ballot.

They must know some shit is coming, because you don’t pick a fight with the goddamn FBI unless you literally have no hope for things to get better. Like, they are going to destroy the GOP after this stunt.

Otherwise, this doesn’t make any sense. Some are saying that the Dems are actually trying to psyche the GOP out on this one because the memo may not be anywhere near as helpful to Trump as he thinks it is. However, it may just be that they are wanting to try to damage the reputation of the FBI, which quite frankly isn’t a hard thing to do since it’s been damaged for decades.

Honestly, nobody trusts the FBI, anyway, and they are going to attract their ire. Is the GOP really THIS stupid?

This is all about convincing trumps supporters that it’s not his fault. They’re trying to show that the deck is stacked against him and he’s doing everything he can to get things done. And that if it weren’t for the dems and DoJ he would have already completed all his campaign promises.

I hope there is some kind of double double smart going on by the Dems part.

I was floored yesterday when CNN broke the Strzok (sp?) story after the right has been yelling for months about him and his Trump agenda how the FBI and Mueller were corrupt and it was a coup and then the stupid ‘secret society’ bullshit, basically everything they’d been saying based on Strzok... Then for it to leak that he was the one to draft the fucking Hillary letter was a master stroke of fuck you I’m God and you are mentally damaged shit-eaters. Mueller seems to be SO far ahead of them it’s beautiful. I just keep hoping he continues his streak and he has seen all their moves months ago and he was long ahead of Nunes and all these stupid twats in the GOP.

This administration and ALL of its enablers in Nunes and Ryan and McConnell need to go down fucking hard because they are corrupt as shit and the slate needs to get wiped clean and to expose to the American people that they voted for and supported the most corrupt sons of bitches EVER since EVER and leave all the people that ever spoke positive words about any of these bastards something to think about for generations.

This shit has been horrible to be a rational, thinking, progressive person living through. It’s so bad that if I accidentally catch a Youtube video of Obama singing Amazing Grace I will fucking start crying uncontrollably because the level of constant anxiety and anger and worry and concern over my country has become normalized in me and I don’t even realize it on a daily basis.

Nunes is compromised in some way that isnt clear at the moment but when it comes out we will all be like “that explains a lot”. One has to imagine the efforts he has taken to protect Trump are also to protect himself.

I doubt it, for some reason 45 supporters are willing to risk it all for him.

Well, look. Anybody involved in Trump transition knew about both their attempts to get sanctions pre-emptively lifted AND that plank in the RNC platform that Russia could do what they wanted with the Ukraine.

Plus, Nunes is supposed to be a CA Central Valley rep. He’s reputed to have the majority of his net worth tied up in some vineyards in Russia. And yet he’s so neglected the district he represents that his own hometown paper wrote him up as “We’re going to vote him out in November.”

That is, if we HAVE elections in November, as very very big Russian officials who are under sanctions and hence not supposed to be in the States at all are running around Washington and visiting Mike Pompeo and other prominent IQ45 Maladministration Rethuglicans, as of, like, yesterday.

Devin Nunes, who has been trash since the investigation into Trump and Russia began

I strongly disagree with this statement. He was trash long before the investigation began.

Sorry for what this does to anybody who isn’t ready, which is pretty much anyone who has been living through this administration...

But I realized I needed to post it; we all needed it to be posted. Because we need to remember sanity, and hope. Hope, above all else. The hope of a decent man, of a Good man. Of a good America, of the America of promise, and the America of hope, and the America our forefathers dreamed it could be. We are in a time of the darkest it has EVER been.

We need these remembrances now more than ever; I think, I believe, we had Obama as president when we needed him most because he would remind us before the country’s most wrenching test. We will either come through this like steel, stronger, tougher than anything, or we will fail. But we won’t survive it without these reminders of faith, and hope, and goodness.

I’m going to post this on some of the worst Trump posts throughout the day, as inspiration; a light in the darkness.

When I really think I’m losing my mind, I go get The Audacity of Hope audiobook from the library. It’s Obama reading his own words. It’s very soothing.

    Guys, I’ve read the memo.

It’s just four pages of “No puppet, no puppet. You’re the puppet.”

The underlying intelligence is something like 50-60 pages. The rebuttal Democratic memo that Nunes doesn’t want released is at least 20. https://www.justsecurity.org/51630/five-questions-nunes-memo-answer/

Smart criminals: Look, fam, we need to do as little as possible to suggest we did something out of line. The more obvious we make this, the worse it’s going to be when the hanmer falls. We can keep making the small moves to undermine this, but smart money is we lawyer up, work on our defenses, and shut the fuck up about it so we don’t incriminate ourselves.

Dumb criminals: RUSSIA WAS AN INSIDE JOBDEEP STATE BUT HER EMAILS! THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE HERE, WE’REJUST UNDERMINING A CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION AND ERODING PUBLIC TRUST IN OUR INSTITUTION FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES! WE ARE NOT CROOKS, YOU’RE THE CROOKS! BY THE WAY WE’RE FIRING THE GUY INVESTIGATING THIS BECAUSE HE TOTALLY WASNT CLOSE TO EXPOSING ALL OF US! THIS WILL WORK OUT FOR US IN THE END!

It bears repeating that the worse part about this administration is that they don’t even have the conmon sense and dignity to hide the dirt they do.

Sounds like Nunes may someday enjoy a conspiracy or collusion charge of his own.

“Adam Schiff” is tripping me up. I keep expecting Sam Waterson to come read Trump to filth.

My list of the very worst of the Trump lackeys is getting longer and currently includes:

    • Tom Cotton
    • Stephen Miller
    • Paul Ryan
    • Devin Nunes
    • Sarah Huckabee Sanders
    • Anyone on a CNN Panel defending Trump.

*These are people who wouldn’t mind seeing the world burn, so they can say they “WON”. (WON What?)
