    A terrible way to go. May they continue to Rest In Peace. And this shows how much America was/(is?) a “shit hole” in its own way. How embarrassing that their story is only now getting the kind of historical play it deserves, though not a surprise. We are again reminded that every single step we’ve made towards true liberation has come at the expense of some black body bleeding & dying, yet too many of us choose to be zombies in the realm. I guess it’s easier that way, but then...

      These hard working young men lost their lives due to malfunctioning equipment and yet there was no mention of compensation to their families or acceptance of responsibility. Did I forget they were black men, in 1968 working in unsafe conditions making less than 100 dollars per week with virtually no benefits. A common thread reflective of the times, yet they were an important part of the civil rights movement. Their lives were not lost in vain, their deaths played an important role in exposure of the plight of the sanitation workers low wages and poor working conditions.
