The Spider-Verse crossover might be the Marvel event I both hated and loved the most (maybe tied in hate with Civil War II, Electric Rhodey-Killing Boogaloo). The plot was terrible, stupid even, but the non-Peter Parker Spider characters introduced were great. Spider-Gwen alone would justify its existence, but I really liked every Spider character they introduced into canonical [multiversal] continuity.

As for this movie, if Miles Morales is the main protagonist I’ll be stoked.

That’s the crossover where one of the bad guys ends up in the newspaper comic and leaves it alone because it’s so slow moving and uneventful, right?

I’d be fine if they all fought Highlander-style to the death.

I hope this movie explains how he got these powers in the first place, and how he developed his ethos of great power equaling great responsibility.

I actually haven’t the slightest idea how Miles Morales got his powers, so I agree with this sarcastic comment in a non-sarcastic way.

Spoiler Alert: I make a cameo on Miles’ phone, in a scene where he bemoans the Kinjafication of the AV Club.

Color me intrigued and cautiously optimistic; if it has an ounce of the creativity and energy of the LEGO/LEGO Batman Movies, I’ll be happy.Although I don’t know how general audiences will respond to this after the *5th reboot* in 16 years. Although we said the same thing about Homecomig and were proved wrong.

Making product placement part of a superhero’s costume is, uh, an interesting development.
