I thought Trump liked military people who don’t get captured or killed?

That bottom pic looks as if they’re saluting a phone book. “Thank you, Yellow Pages, for all you have done...”

Annnd...isn’t the president not supposed to salute because he’s a civilian?

    OK, I’m done now.

Those service men killed in Pearl Harbor knew what they were getting into.

He’s saluting the memorial wall at the USS Arizona Memorial and unfortunately for us all he’s the Commander in Chief so even though he’s a draft dodger, a coward and a silver spoon dipshit he’s technically part of the military he so clearly gives no fucks about.

I doubt it. Sen. Blutarsky would clearly be a Republican.

Maybe she was using the European style, and was referring to the 11th of July, 1941?

If she means July 11th that makes more sense. That’t the day the Japanese began rowing their canoes across the ocean to attack Pearl Harbor with katanas. They’re a samurai culture, you know.

I’m not as concerned about the date slip-up as I am the “squirrel and moose” diction of the rest of the tweet. Does the First Lady not have some kind of PR flunky to do these things for her?

If only there was a department within the White House that could be staffed with trained professionals to help you craft a coherent message for public consumption. This office could research and compose words that are accurate and comprehensible for all. Someone should really look into this as it would be a revolutionary approach for the West Wing.

George Bush Sr. made the same mistake in 1988, only he thought PHD was in September.

He’s not George Bush “Senior.” The father’s name is George Herbert Walker Bush and the son’s name is George Walker Bush. In order for the younger to be a junior (and thereby making the father senior), their names must be exactly the same. Just call the father Bush41 and the son Bush43 if it’s too much work to type out their full name.

So at least HE has an alibi.

Waits was on a talk show some time ago, the host asked if he was truly born in a taxi cab. He reached into his coat: “..yeah, I think I have the registration here somewhere..”

[He wasn’t born in a taxi, but I think at one point (besides in the lyric of “Whistling Past the Graveyard”) he must have said he was....]

I seem to remember Bush 41 saying something about Pearl Harbor on September 7th. Maybe it was Quayle.

It was Bush. He was giving a speech to veterans on September 7, and suddenly had a brain fart and thought it was the anniversary of the attack. Pretty weird coming from an actual veteran of the Pacific Theater.
