Yeah, all Democratic men in Congress should resign so they can be eventually replaced by Republican pedophiles.

I don’t know why the Democrat Minnesota governor would appoint a Republican pervert to take the seat though.

Did that headline confuse the hell out of anyone else? I understand that gender terms are a touchy subject, and yes “women” can be used as an adjective, but in this situation, “female” would make the meaning clearer, right?

Also, yes, Al needs to go.

Agree. I see this more and more. Isn’t “female” the adjective we use to describe women? Isn’t “women” a noun?

The ironic thing is that in the first paragraph, she uses “female” where “women” would have been more appropriate.

“Six Democratic senators, all of them female, are calling upon Al Franken to resign after yet another allegation of sexual misconduct against the Minnesota senator has emerged.”

This one really hurts, but I think Franken should resign.

On the other side of the aisle, pedo Roy Moore has been accused of much worse by more women with more evidence, and the RNC just resumed their support.

That is in no way meant to let Franken off the hook, but it does show the absolute moral bankruptcy of the GOP, and it is absolutely a legit issue nationwide going forward.

Al Frankin just switched his party affiliation to Republican, so it’s all good. All of his accusers are now liars and the female democratic senators need to resign before they embarrass themselves further by not investigating real issues plaguing this nation like Hillary Clinton.

The circular firing squad on the left is never ending and the ultimate gift to the right.

We’re calling on Franken to resign while they’re getting ready to elect (another) sexual predator to the Senate, this time one that preyed on teen aged girls.

Once again, we bring a surrender flag to a gun fight.

To me, insisting that multiple credible accusations of sexual misconduct render one unfit to serve in the Senate seems like the exact opposite of surrendering.

He should just resign. He will be replaced by another Minnesota Democrat. Yes, it sucks that a popular and nationally prominent figure like Franken had to go, but that ship sailed when he grabbed things he wasn’t supposed to. Everything he does from this point on would be tainted anyway, even if he stayed.

And for those claiming “well the Republicans still support Roy Moore”, are you seriously conceding all moral authority to Trump and the Republicans? This is basically admitting that you don’t find sexual assault independently problematic, and that it’s okay as long as Republicans think it’s okay. There’s a huge movement right now to take claims of this seriously and you’re waiting for the party of Trump to lead the way on it.

This Roy Moore thing should be an albatross around the neck of Republicans. Democrats should use it in every way possible in 2018. And you can’t even do that when you’ve still got one sheltered among your own ranks. The subtleties of the differing levels of seriousness will not come through, and even if they did, if a Republican did what Franken is accused of, Dems would still be using it to bash them. It’s time to let him go.

At this point in life I am thinking back in terror to every awkward hug or accidental ass bump. Like I literally did not want to touch your ass, but through some movement my hand brushed against it. I immediately pulled away, and trust me it was as uncomfortable for me as it was you. But at the time I said none of this.

So clearly I am a sexual predator.

Franken has accepted responsibility for the credible claim, sincerely apologized, and requested his own investigation.

He says the anonymous claim is “categorically not true”, including that he would say, “It’s my right as an entertainer.”

That is up-front not a believable phrase. Who would say that? Oh, I know, James O’Keefe.

Feel free to go through my comment history and see how I’ve said on multiple occasions that the “He apologized and seems contrite” excuse along with deflecting to Moore and Trump doesn’t do women any good and is severely hypocritical.

To all the people that claim to find these acts disgusting and never ok, they certainly twist themselves in knots to “not want to believe it”. And then “believe but, but [someone else] did far worse.”

This issue shouldn’t be concerned with politics, but it is.

    Oh for f**k’s sake.

So that’s three accusations of unwelcome advances, the most recent one of which (as I recall) happened over seven years ago. Of all the people who have been accused of sexual misconduct (to put it mildly, in many cases), Franken is the ONLY one who has shown any sort of contrition. Women who have worked with Franken, both on Saturday Night Live (where he was a writer) and in his time in politics have come to his support, saying he is NOT a creep.

If there’s anyone in this whole mess that we should find room in our hearts to forgive and let the matter drop (like Leanne Tweeden, Franken’s first accuser - WHO ACCEPTED FRANKEN’S APOLOGY), it’s the Senator from Minnesota.

I ask all of you - how long must we hold things over a person’s head? How many of you can say you haven’t been a little “gropey” in your own time a decade ago? How many of you are the same person you were ten years ago? People can change and grow - shouldn’t we acknowledge that?

And hey you six Democratic Senators - what are you going to do should Roy Moore win his election? He’s done far worse than anything Franken’s been accused of. And what about the Pussygrabber-in-Chief? Any calls for his impeachment?

    Jeez......

I’d like to think this sort of thing meant something to the average voter. The elephant is happy to support a sexual abuser and pedophile where the donkey finds it important to self police.

But, as illuminating as the past year has been, I worry there is still a lot more ‘Alabama’ to this country than we know.

“Krusty the Klown: Well, he framed me for armed robbery, but man, I’m aching for that upper-class tax cut” is a lot closer to how people really think about elections.

On second thought. It’s closer to how people view their local sports franchise. The R.s are demanding (and will get) that taxpayer funded stadium. The D.s? Well, they really ought to consider re-locating to another venue. They’d make a nice center-right party in Western Europe, I think.

I completely disagree that he should go.

I think all of these assholes, Republicans or Democrats, should stay in office. Why? you ask.

Because if they resign, this will all go away. You need to keep these elected officials in the spotlight. They are going to have to grow, publicly acknowledge their sins, and now figure out how to work with everyone, and do the job they were elected to do- hat in hand (and dick in pants).

It will suck for them (boo-hoo), but maybe, just maybe, it empowers our political leaders to get their shit together, get past left wing & right wing politics, and figure out how to make this American Love Boat work.
