    The movement he started may be admirable, but one problem I have with him is that last year he praised Fidel Castro. I understand you can praise some things about people who did terrible things, but to praise Castro after blasting America for being oppressive seems like missing the big picture to me.

    What a great surprise in these dark times.

    I, like most Americans, anxiously await the first Tuesday in December for the Sports Illustrated Awards. Nothing shines in a dark December sky like a SportyIlly Statue.

    So you can imagine my family’s delight as we huddled around the radio, ( What can I say? I like the traditions.) with our hot chocolates in hand when they announced Beyonce would be presenting the award to Kaepernick. Heck, we didn’t even need to put the final log on the fire, since our hearts had been thoroughly warmed.
