Sounds like fun. Building Stories was pretty great. I’m on board if it’s not too expensive.

How do you have an “experimental early adulthood”?

Regardless, good to see Ware is still going strong. Those early issues of Acme Novelty Library remain some of the most searing reads in comic form I’ve ever seen.

My dad is a huge fan so I ordered the book for Christmas online. I had no idea how big it was until it arrived in this weird awkward box. It’s beautiful. I’m kind of jealous to give it away but excited to have a good gift for him.

I like his work and I admire his commitment to pushing the form, but this “every book is an objet d’art” thing is starting to wear a little thin. Will the next book be printed on a fabrege egg?

If you are a big Ware collector you will already have a big chunk of this material. It’s predictably as gorgeous as you would think.

I’ve got this book and it’s crazy beautiful but fair warning that it is oversized and filled with more autobiographical material than artwork. If you are looking for a book of just artwork (and that fits on your bookshelf) then check out some of his other works. That said, I don’t regret my purchase, so I don’t want to imply that.
