Finally saw Coco yesterday, and it far exceeded expectations. I’d say it’s Pixar’s best movie since Up. That aside, the Frozen “short” that played before it was horrible.

Coco was great. The endless Frozen short killed almost any interest I had in Frozen 2. It felt so stretched out and thin.

Given the 21 min run time and how boring and basic teh whole thing seemed, it was clearly made as a half-hour TV special but I guess they decided to air it in theaters instead.

Love. this. movie. If you don’t weep openly at some point during the last 5 minutes, you have a stone heart and a stone head and a fascination with trivia and your name is Olmec.

Someone ought to rank Pixar’s most tear-worthy moments, because I have a feeling those five minutes would go right up there with the montage from Up, the ending from Monsters Inc, and “Take her too the moon for me.” It’s also a happy cry, which is unusual for me in any circumstance.
