I really enjoy U Talkin’ U2 To Me? but now that the Scotts are hanging out with the band, it does make them less objective. Which is fine I guess as it’s a comedy show and not journalism but does change the show a little bit. For me the new album is a “B”, so pretty good after 40 years of being a band, but I wouldn’t mind a little more critique of the album or the band in the show (some of the lyrics on the new album are pretty cringe-worthy.)

Would LOVE if they covered R.E.M.. My bad pun title suggestion: R.E.M.bering R.E.M.

I think what I most want from UTU2TM is for them to get guests back. I love Scott & Scott, but the all-time greatest moments of the show always involved guests, namely PFT and Todd Glass.

Staind Glass remains one of the pinnacle episodes in podcast history.

I love Scott & Scott, but I’d be okay with them moving on and starting a new podcast.

They revisited starting up Scottomatic for the People in this last one and I continue to hope they do it.

At least this one felt more natural and of a piece with the original run of eps. The last few new ones felt very forced and the effort showed. If ever there was a show that is best when there’s no discernible effort or care, it’s UTU2TM

I think I can safely say that Off Book is the best new podcast of the year.

My criteria for best podcast is the one that still has me looking like a crazy person laughing my ass off at nothing walking down the street the third time I listen to the same episode. Jessica McKenna is a treasure.

I’m glad it’s not just me. Most of my comedy podcasts are consumed whilst walking and I’ve doubled over with laughter on several occasions in public.

Do I need to listen to the Womp it Up episodes in order or would I be able to understand the Paul Scheer one without them? I’ve listened to all their CBB appearances and birthday special episodes, and I love Wompler and Listler so I’ll listen to them all eventually, but sometimes I like to just jump in where there’s a guest I like.

It usually involves a T-16 Skyhopper, Biggs Darklighter, and no questions asked.

This article made me think to check if Playing House got cancelled or not. Unfortunately it did.

Man that sucks, that was a fun show.

Growing up in England I wasn’t subjected to commercials much, (we’re forced to pay a licence fee to the BBC so we can watch several channels with no ads). The ones I do remember are awful local ads for shit businesses - of a type amusingly parodied here by Harry Enfield :

Part of me thinks I would love a Womp it Up/Teacher’s Lounge crossover, and part of me thinks it would be a trainwreck.

Check that: it would absolutely be a trainwreck, but it could be either the most exhaustingly hilarious thing ever, or just exhausting.

New Wild Horses podcast with the amazing Tatiana Maslany!

I love the horses but I wish they’d appoint a moderator for each ep. So much cross talk is infuriating and poor Tat was pretty much drowned out in the hubub. Also, why not let the guest join in the improv?
