The same PD that stood around while a white man fired a gun a black protester on camera and did nothing until the internet ID him? The same PD who made no move to investigate and arrest violent Nazis until the internet handed them names and addresses? The same PD that arrested Black protesters in retaliation?       It might not even get that far. The fact that the moron named his stupid little temper tantrum after the original riot in which someone else was killed amuses me in part because he obviously has no idea he just gave the city a refusal to grant him his precious permit pursuant to an “anticipated violence and compelling state interest in the safety of the public” exception to the application of the freedom of assembly provisions of the 1st Amendment ... which obviously the moron either doesn’t know how to read or didn’t bother to read.

      Now all somebody has to do is make sure the city’s attorneys use the argument (as I think we remember not only that the town’s police stood around and let it happen - in stark contrast to Boston under Marty Walsh who were like “HELL NO” and “GO HOME” - but also that the black men who were beaten up by the Klan members and Nazis were the ones who ended up facing felony charges (and how are they doing, anyway?).

    Just an explainer for folks who may not be fluent in racist, “government rights” refers not to the rights of a government but “government-created” rights vs “God-given”rights. Rights for white (men)folk are all “God-given” while everyone else’s rights are “government”rights, and therefore, lesser & not really rights at all. See the derogatory term “14th amendment citizen.” Basically, any amendment or court ruling that confers equal rights & protection to non-male WASPs is a “government right” to these folks.

    These dudes really all have one move, and they repeat it over and over again. O’keefe tries to frame people with edited videos - and fails. Kessler invites an army of racists to hide behind and apparently to terrorize Charlottesville. Spencer presents himself as the dapper educated “nationalist”. But really they are just one trick ponies who go back to the same well because in their mind they are “owning libs” and of course it keeps their name in the news which funds their grift and lines their pockets with the money their aging white benefactors spare them from their social security checks.
