If by Muslim Grooming Gangs she means my crew from back in middle school who plucked my eyebrows for the first time and transformed them to the fierce fuzz beasts of majesty that they are now, then yea. Otherwise I have no idea what this Sad Lady is talking about. I must have missed out on a lot of Islam, growing up Muslim and going to private Islamic school.

The grooming gangs is primarily a reference to a child abuse scandal in Rochdale. All thoroughly despicable and it gave the far right ammunition which has been mined beyond reality.

Is grooming not a common term in the US?
It’s a reference to this (and a couple of other similar cases). It’s one of those things where it clearly happens, but her ‘collossal scale’ is a few dozen people.

Nah, you’ll get a load of Russian trolls who don’t know the difference between US and UK English, plus an orcish hoard of semi-literate morons called ‘Infidel_Cusader1066' or ‘England4Life’, with shaved heads, morbid obesity and bad Millwall tattoos. They will own a Staffordshire Pit Bull called ‘Tyson’ and live in Kent. Or Sunderland. They will not be able to use apostrophes properly.

she said that she encouraged her party members to back UKIP candidate Mark Reckless

You literally can’t make this shit up, anymore. Just completely bury The Onion, already.

    Mark Reckless? I’ll say.

When I asked Fransen if she is a racist or Islamophobic, she pushed back, saying that she is a “Catholic”

This is the most hilarious part to me. Catholics lost out in Britain centuries ago. A lot of her fellow racist Brits wouldn’t see her as British enough by her very choice of religious affiliation.

Of course she’s not on Islamophobic bigot. She’s a Catholic.

And if there’s one thing I know about European history, it’s that Catholicism and Islam have been best friends for over 900 years - ever since 1095, when Pope Urban II started the Crusades.

Britain has a huge immigrant population of whites (polish, etc) from EU and NON-EU countries, funny how they are never mentioned.

Well, to be fair, the Polish are hated by a not-inconsiderable amount of Brits. I’ve known people who consider South Asians (whether Muslim, Hindu, Sikh or whatever) British (because of the history of colonialism), but the Polish and other Eastern Europeans to be a scourge on Britain.

      Prejudice is a weird thing.

Never mentioned? Umm... that is the singular motivation/excuse for Brexit. More troubling is that a lot of black Brits here, particularly well to-do Londoners, don’t see Brexit as something that has anything to do with us beyond the impending economic doom. I want to scream -if they’re coming for people that look like them now, trust and believe we are next! This banshee PM has a record of stripping non-whites of their citizenship when she was Home Secretary, those little maroon books won’t protect our black asses. The politics of exclusion only ever move in one direction.

I don’t really think (I look forward to your comments, not really ) Halal slaughter is anymore painful to the animal, we’re generally comparing shooting a bolt into an animal’s head that purportedly renders them insensitive to pain, mechanized throat slitting, then an hoist by chained ankles to drain blood till death vs a throat slit. Sometimes the bolt misses. For poultry its a drag through electrified water.

There are Kosher and Halal tenants that generally forbid abuse of animals pr conditions and feeding practices that compromise food safety and organ integrity. So those animals may have had a better life up till that last day.

Another issue the Britain First folks have had was the labeling of vegan foods as Halal by marketers. Vegan foods are generally kosher or halal. A marketing  technique does not an invasiom make.

I’m not Muslim, and I don’t eat meat, so please avoid demanding I justify a religion I don’t follow, or food practices I don’t personally endorse. My point is more that these folks misrepresent a lpt to fit their own agenda.

Lol nope. Just watch the videos my man. Halal (and kosher for that matter) are orders of magnitude worse for the animal. Those animals thrash about bewildered (and in pain? What would having your throat slit and having the life drain out of you feel like?) for a solid minute. Bolts seem to do their jobs and while I’m here misses do happen I’m sure they’re a very small minority. My sympathies for the unlucky ones.

      Kudos for the vegetarianism.

I don’t eat meat either, so my general response to people who criticise Halal farming practices is, if you hate animal abuse ‘stop fucking meat of any kind’. Otherwise it just reeks of hypocrisy.

“Fransen denied the words were intended to be offensive at a trial in Luton and South bedfordshire Magistrates’ Court.”

She yells at woman that Muslim men are rapists and rape their women...she did this in FRONT OF four children, but like in a totally not offensive way....mkay.

She said “we have an establishment that is against anything patriotic in this country and is only concerned with appeasing the Muslim community”.

Translation: it’s not fair that I can’t say or do anything to the detriment of others without consequence....it’s soooooo not fair.

    OH....AAAAAND she’s asking tRump for a handout.

The only good thing about Britain First is that their content when shared makes any shithead bigots on your Facebook identifiable and easy to block/remove.

They are also massively incompetent as far right movements go, whilst they can make memes and such that gain traction on social media by reinforcing people’s worst thoughts on Islam and/or immigration they generally fail to translate this into a real following either at marches or the ballot compared to say BNP or UKIP previously Who for varying periods of time did.

Her reaction to getting retweeted is literally “yay, I’m getting attention” and it seems like the media’s response is to give her more attention. I don’t know what the best response is because ignoring hate groups doesn’t really work either, but contributing to her 15 minutes of fame seems irresponsible to me, even if the article about the interview is scathing.
