They don’t. These people are some of the most dangerous people out there. I blame them as much as I blame law enforcement and federal agents for harrassing people/getting people killed.

Wait, so Delta trains its crew to fight human trafficking, but the flight attendants couldn’t just strike up a conversation with these two women and easily ascertain that 1) they (at least Ung) clearly spoke with unaccented American English, 2) they had a family and were discussing Thanksgiving plans, two things Asians being trafficked would NOT be able to do? They will just believe any (white) voice of concern and pass the buck to the “authorities,” thus both satisfying their customers that they care about human trafficking while simultaneously putting zero effort into not disrupting their OTHER customers’ lives?

You can simultaneously assure a passenger who is concerned about possible human trafficking that you are “taking steps,” and then based upon your own experience, NOT report them because you feel the complaining passenger is a racist idiot. The problem here is that the flight attendants are also racist idiots or complete cowards or both.

And the federal agents laughed at suspected trafficking victims?

Yeah, that’s the bigger part of the story. Better safe than sorry on the part of the Airline, WTF on the part of the Feds. I guess I’m glad they didn’t sexually assault the women, or move them to a detention center to sit in a cold box for the night.

    FTFY

Edit: And, by that I mean, the nosy passenger wasn’t concerned about anything, they just wanted to start shit.

So, there are vast numbers of Asian sex slaves being smuggled in via ... Cancun? Seems like the authorities ought to have been a bit skeptical right there.

What about when the security officers discovered the women spoke English with American accents? Kind of a giant clue that they might not be entering the country as part of a trafficking scheme, no?

And the authorities got involved in the first place because a passenger said the women didn’t have passports. Therefore, I assume the questioning must have ended when the women showed their passports, right? No? Okay then.

Given all of the above, if the federal agents were unable to quickly assess this report of possible human trafficking and determine it was unjustified, then, clearly, they are too dumb to do their jobs. This matter should have been settled in, like, five minutes.

“Here’s my passport, here’s my drivers license.”

“Ok, thank you, you’re free to go.”

Should have taken less than :30 seconds. I’m willing to bet that the person reporting was white. I’m still appalled at the ability for a white person to report something they didn’t see (a passport) and for that to be a reason to detain someone. Was everyone else on the plane holding theirs above their heads?

All it took was some nosy ass fool from Gwinett, Bugtussle or where the hell white people from Atlanta live, to dip where the fuck they had no business to almost get two innocent people arrested (or worse)

It doesn’t help that the authorities encourage these nosy racists to indulge in their Jim Crow wet dreams.

    Motherfuckers.

Not sure Delta needs to apologize. The Federal Agents certainly need to, but that won’t happen.
