    Eleven years of my life being spent in the Marine Corps tells me these dudes are about to be piloting a desk in the squadron’s training office, measuring fat people’s body fat and making rosters on Excel.

    20 years ago they’d probably receive a high five and pat on the back. The current climate of the military does not take kindly to this kind of thing.

    Side question: wtf do we (mensfolk) enjoy drawing dicks on things?

      I actually don’t think so. Pilots are an enormous investment.

      According to DOD, the cost to train each military pilot through basic flight training is about $1 million, and the cost to fully train a pilot with the requisite operational experience can be more than $9 million.

      So unless they’re trainees, in which case they likely won’t finish their training, they’ll probably get a reprimand, be passed over for promotion, and maybe assigned to a squadron in North Dakota, but the Navy isn’t going to permanently ground them for this.

      Pretty much. The only person I know to get sent away from the line crashed a helicopter. He now works IT and has nerve to be bitter about it. Sir, you crashed an entire military helicopter!
