Saw this earlier today and my first and pretty much only reaction to this has been: whew! Thank goodness. Finally a return to normalcy in our news cycle.
This is the kind of story that, pre-Cheeto the Chump, we’d think represented the worst of the GOP. A closeted gay man projecting all of his self-loathing on communities that have had to fight for equality?

In a weird way I kinda, sorta, almost, maybe feel for him.

His actions hurt and marginalized people and there needs to be some serious action and repentance coming from Goodman’s direction to atone for that.

But look at how evil and destructive repression is. This guy’s entire life is a fiction because he’s never felt okay being the person he is. That is tragic and so is the bullshit platform and legislation that he forced himself to believe.

  I would have some sympathy for him had he sought therapy and worked out his insecurities that way, but instead he decided to make it his mission to make life harder for other gays. He is the Ben Carson of the gay community. Only sympathy I have is for his wife (if she didn’t know) and any children he may have.

  I Hear you Derply, but keep in mind that this is one of those legislators who are determined to keep homosexuality in the closet no matter it hurts... even the kids. Fuck him. I feel nothing.
