He also backed Clinton’s school to prison pipeline so he needs to also address that.

This Biden apology thing can get tricky because if we demand it, and we should, then what about the Bill Clinton apologists & enablers in the rape and sexual assault allegations against him? Remember how Hillary Clinton shamed Jennifer Flowers and the other victims with “bimbo eruptions”?

Frankly, Joe Biden won’t run for the presidency - his time has passed!

Anyone remember when Clarence Thomas’ wife left a crazy voicemail for Anita Hill and demanded she apologize for what she did to her family? I think Ms. Hill is used to getting less than sincere apologies but she’s too much of a dignified woman to say something.

Also, I think Biden’s relationship with Obama warmed him up to a lot of people, but that doesn’t mean I want to see him running. #KamalaHarris2020.

Biden has done some good, some bad. He is from a time that we have moved on from. He needs to back away.

If the Democrats are putting Joe Biden up in 2020 they may as well concede defeat now. The best thing he can do is put his support behind a better candidate.

Anita Hill deserved better by all. She was a trailblazer for women’s rights in the workplace.

Creepy Uncle Joe got a pass on his past sins for 8 years and by 2020, this country could be in such a shambles that he could get right into the White House without breaking a sweat over Anita Hill mistreatment. I’m not saying that is fair, but nothing really has been fair since Obama left.

After Trump, I’m guessing a lot of things will get a pass because anything will be an improvement.

But one sticking point that would have the potential to weaken Biden’s candidacy is his unresolved history with Anita Hill.

As well as his “Creepy Uncle Joe” thing he does when he greets women

That apology likely won’t satisfy many of his critics. If Biden does run in 2020, he, like all Democratic candidates, will have to win over black women, the party’s most important voters, during the primaries to earn the nomination.

The sad thing to think about is what would happen if Harris and Booker didn’t run.

With core groups of the coalition, black people, women, union groups that have held together, it’s endorsements from the people in the party they trust that are the most critical thing to unlocking their vote. In the case of black people, that’s the members of the CBC,groups like the NAACP and figures like Barack Obama.

I’m suspicious that in the absence of a Harris or a Booker, Biden would get them whether he cleans up his apology to Anita Hill or not.

Biden’s behavior towards Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas hearing is just one of several sticking points against Joe Biden.

He is the principal author of the 94 Crime Bill that Hillary Clinton was bludgeoned with by the leftier wing of the party in 2016.

Before the Crime Bill was even written Biden had his fingerprints all over some of the most draconian and reductive drug laws in the country. It was Biden’s drug paraphernalia law that was used to send Tommy Chong (of Cheech & Chong fame) to jail for a year for shipping his custom bongs across state lines. And the expanded asset forfeiture laws can be blamed on good ol’ Uncle Joe too.

He has always been a sock puppet for the banking and credit card industries that own Delaware and had a lot of influence in pushing that unnecessary bankruptcy bill that the credit card companies basically wrote and that made it harder for poor people to file for bankruptcy. It also would become an issue that his son was a paid consultant for credit card giant MBNA during the years that the bankruptcy bill was being hammered through Congress with Joe’s full support. And I can just imagine the attacks during the primary focusing on Biden taking big donations from banks and credit card companies.

Toss in his being a gaffe machine with some of them being terribly racially insensitive bonehead remarks like Obama being the first “mainstream African-American politician who is articulate and bright and clean” or calling Delaware a “slave state” when trying to explain why he would do well in the heavily African-American South Carolina Dem primary.

Plus his previous two attempts at becoming president were massive failures because no one outside of Delaware gives a hot damn about Joe Biden and that bullshit Uncle Joe persona would crumble to dust in a week’s time once people started seeing the real Joe Biden out on the stump.

Words are damn cheap. If he wants African American voters to turn out for him, he has to do the real work of championing issues we care deeply about AND building up a diverse staff with black women in leadership positions. Break down the barriers that keep courageous women like Hill on the witness stand instead of leading the committee herself!

Not voting for the imperfect candidate resulted in Trump. I hope your stipulations are negotiable... otherwise, enjoy 4 more years.

Point to where I said I would not vote for him? I’m just saying, if he wants to make things right by Anita Hill and black women in general, there is so much more that he could do than he could ever adequately say.

Will an apology be worth anything at this point?

I’m a man, so my perspective is limited, but it seems an apology now would only be something Biden did for his own selfish interests. It would serve to either clear HIS conscience, or try to free up some political ambition and get out in front of a scandal. Why even bother making a patently insincere bastardization of an apology?
