    Hey, it’s great and all that it worked out, and I’m glad the guys are heading back home. Still, come on, man. Aren’t there some significantly more pressing issues for 45 to be more concerned about? But then again, this is a softball issue that’ll make him look presidential without requiring a lot of thought, so it’s par for the course, I guess.

      I’m almost certain his staffers made him think those were three white players. This is not a man who does his own research or knows how to “use the google”, so that would have been easy, and, like you say, an opportunity to make him look “presidential” for a change.

      He still wants to executive the Central Park Five, no way he’d lift a finger to aid a black kid in escaping “justice”.

      Of the gigantically long list of things to possibly take issue with about Trump’s China trip, I think this one doesn’t make the list. It’s not like he flew to China to talk about those guys.

      If he spent hours across a negotiating table for it, that’d be weird, but a brief conversation ... requesting the return of citizens who really didn’t do anything all that serious is pretty common fare for U.S. diplomacy.  

      I’d bet Obama, Bush or Clinton would have done basically the same thing, though undoubtedly with a bit more dignity.

    Of course, President Twitter Fingers, not one to pass up an opportunity to preen, wanted to know when he would be thanked for saving the players from “10 years in jail.”

    People are saying that Cheetolini went to John Kelly and asked “if they don’t publicly thank me by the weekend, can I send them back?”

    Since they were only suspected of the theft, my hope was that they didn't do it and would have gotten of with a good international lawyer. Either way, I doubt Trump did anything to get them released, especially since he's out there begging for thank yous. If he had real pull with President Xi, he should have asked for mercy for
