    This was a great headline. There are lots of these thugs in the new gentrified NYC too. I’m so tired of all these entitled, racist White young adults. How did the liberal Boomers and Gen Xers raise these cretins? I hope more people get charged and that the Black student is able to heal.

    I have never in my life done or something, good or bad, that “neither reflects my values nor who I am.”* Even if it was not cool, what I do or say reflects who I am in that moment. That’s not to say that I sometimes haven’t regretted what I said or did and apologized for it, but it’s not like I had an out of body experience or was possessed by an evil spirit.

    I did or said whatever I did or said because of who I am.

    Come on, now. This is probably a promising young man, who was a leader on his tennis team in high school, who just made a mistake. We should listen to his tearful apology and thank him for his candor and willingness to grow. I’d hate to see his bright future tarnished by his mistakes as a child.
