    Hey, off-topic question:

The Root’s always been at the back of the navbar...alphabetical order, T comes last, fine. But now they’ve got ‘The Takeout’ and based on my rudimentary understanding of the English alphabet, R definitely comes before T...but the Root is still last.

Are y’all intentionally getting back of bused?

“r” still comes before “s” so...it’s still weird.

I thought this would be Nella Larson’s ‘Passing’. In any event it is a topic too long ignored.

I LOVED Larson’s Passing. We read it in my English 101 class in college and that story was deep as hell! So many layers! Like they were literally passing for so many things — white, straight , rich etc. A really good book.

I was lucky enough to take an English literature course on Black Women and Sexuality in my junior year of college and we read “Passing” as well as “Quicksand” (which is also great), “The Color Purple”, most of Zora Neale Hurston’s work and Anne Petry’s “The Street”. All amazing books that dissect gender, race and sexuality, if any of you want to read them :)

Thanks. I was curious. Here’s hoping Zendaya produces and has a role in it but leaves the “starring” to someone else.

This makes me weep for the Alicia Keys/Philippa Schuyler movie that never was.

I’d believe Zendaya as Philippa before i’d believe her as Anita.

This looks fantastic! I’ll be honest when I saw her on Disney I did not think we’d be watching her build this empire. I’m so excited for her.

    *softly groans*

Zendaya will play Hemmings in the film and will produce, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter, who are partners in the Hello Sunshine production company. The screenplay will be written by Monica Beletsky.

And, yes, Monique... I am definitely shaking the table.

Sounds great and will watch.  That picture of her is crazy beautiful! I hope those twitter a-holes being nasty about her parents, choke.
