The board classifies Boylan’s pet as an “exotic” animal

Apparently Boylan was able to receive an emotional support classification for his squirrel simply by visiting RegisterMyServiceAnimal.com

HAHAHA, this reminds of this white couple who thought they were being oppressed because Starbucks doesn’t have Gluten free options.

Fun fact: squirrels used to be the most popular pet in the US for a while. Another fun fact: that didn’t last long because squirrels make awful pets and keeping them indoors is pretty cruel. They’re solitary by nature and easily scared. Upon reaching adulthood they’ll put up with one human they’re familiar with but usually freak out and attack any other humans who enter their home. Like most rodents their teeth never stop growing and they have to chew constantly to wear them down. They won’t tolerate being in a cage so that means they will chew whatever they feel like. Including trying to chew through walls because a squirrel stuck in a house is constantly trying to find a way outside of that house. I can’t blame the condo association for wanting it out. It will eventually wreck that condo.

It’s also just plain cruel because once they reach adulthood their territory is defined and they react very badly to trying to be moved or released far away, to the point that can die from the stress. They will always try to get back to familiar territory, which in this case is this condo. They don’t want to be stuck inside but they’ll very much return to nest in the wallspace and, if female, have litters there.

Why do I know so much about friggin’ squirrels? Because last year I had a six month nightmare of dealing a squirrel and her litter that took residence in my attic... and walls... and kitchen cabinets. It started with me trying to be nice and catch them in live traps but even after releasing them outside and blocking the hole they were using to get in, they literally chewed through my screens to get back in. Then chewed another hole in the eave. Eventually all empathy went out window after too many sleepless nights of them skittering in the walls, having my pantry torn apart, finding squirrel poop everywhere and I started killing them with a pellet gun. When I couldn’t get them all I hired an exterminator to glue trap the last of the poor bastards.

Hmmm well, if the squirrel lets me touch it, maybe I can put a little hat on it.

This is what makes America great.

There’s a first time for everything.

A “Florida Man” story that doesn’t involve something gross, like college students jumping into a pool of mayonnaise, or something awful, like that lady sitting on her adopted cousin, that is.

The real story is, anyone can send $15 to a website and have their pet aardvark granted emotional support animal status, and then they feel entitled to take the emotional support anole to a restaurant and claim discrimination because their emotional support funnel spider is not welcome.

Yep. That is some bullshit right there.

If you get your support animal certified by a website whose address doesn’t end in .gov, it’s probably bullshit.

You all are laughing at this, but I live in the Tampa Bay area and the wipipo here have gone nuckin futs. They bring these ‘support animals’ everywhere. Grocery stores, restaurants, hospitals.....Nasty mfs. They prefer animals to people because they can be in charge in a ‘relationship’ with something that won’t argue back and will be totally compliant. Like how they wish we would act towards them.
