She isn’t a white supremacist or anything, but she did say Dunkin’ Donuts are better than Krispy Kremes, which is kind of Hitler-ish in my opinion.)

Wait, people still debate this? Dunkin’ Donuts are better.

Krispy Kreme is the In-N-Out of donuts.

I own multiple guns, including several ARs. I support background checks and closing the gun show loophole. That right there I feel would slow a lot of the criminals from getting guns. Will they still steal guns? Of course, but here’s a novel idea....lock your guns up. Get a gun safe. Are you going to carry your gun? Take gun defense classes. Practice with your weapon. There is a reason people are scared of gun owners. The biggest enemy that gun owners have is gun owners that refuse to use common sense, either in laws or in their own gun use. Now of course “not all gun owners” blah blah blah, but if you’re going to own guns, it’s YOUR responsibility to keep yourself and everyone around you safe. And I’m not talking about patrolling the neighborhood or any shit like that. I’m talking about don’t be a dumbass when it comes to owning a firearm.

Without even debating the “what kind of guns,” magazine sizes, etc. I think universal background checks, better coordination/consolidation of who goes on the “can’t buy” list, actual hands-on training to purchase a gun, and an affirmative obligation to keep your guns secure (which sort of exists, but often isn’t enforced), would go a long way.

This right here. How butthurt do you have to be to get salty over this? It’s COMMON SENSE, y’all. Not only that, you’d think gun-humpers would WANT people to be trained in safe handling and use of firearms. That is, if they really do believe in that “protection against tyranny” line they’re always spouting.

The Second Amendment guarantees us the right to our guns.

DC v. Heller ruled that it does indeed guarantee the right to own firearms outside of a militia for lawful purposes.

“ that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home,”

Agree or disagree, that’s how the 2A is now interpreted. Of course that decision can be overruled by a future SCOTUS case.

Furthermore, McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U.S. 742 (2010), is a landmark[1] decision of the Supreme Court of the United States that found that the right of an individual to “keep and bear arms” as protected under the Second Amendment is incorporated by the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment against the states. The decision cleared up the uncertainty left in the wake of District of Columbia v. Heller as to the scope of gun rights in regard to the states.

Michael Harriott didn’t dispute that at all - he went in on how other rights within the Bill of Rights/amendments got towards a decent amount of caveats and provisions to regulate.

Let’s note here that Heller was a 5-4 decision with Scalia writing the opinion of the court. It’s not as if this ruling is completely free of rightwing ideology.

Yep; not to mention most of the new guns confiscated in Chicago were purchased in other states.

Last week I went to Chicago with my wife and daughter. And we didn’t get killed. Not even a little. Isn’t that weird.

Lived here almost 20 years, never been shot. I even worked in a couple “unsafe” (aka underprivileged, highly segregated) neighborhoods, still alive and kicking.

Let’s stand 25 yards apart. I get an AR-15 with a C Products Defense 30 round mag, 55gr 5.56 round SP rounds, and an MRO red dot sight. You get a baseball bat...or a knife, or even a Taurus 85. Let’s play out 50 matches. Who will win most of them?
