I honestly thought Shannon was an utter milquetoast when he was doing football commentary on CBS, but he is a JOY to watch when he can say whatever TF he wants

This. I really couldn’t stand him at CBS, and while I dont have the time or inclination to watch contrived sports debate shows, I have seen many clips of Shannon killing it on certain topics over on FS1. Dont know what happened between his time at CBS and his arrival at FS1 but he definitely honed his craft is at the top of his game now.

It’s Fox Sports 1's slogan: Opine like there’s no one watching (because there probably isn’t)

There is no other side to hurricane relief. It’s not a political issue. Police training / what to do about alleged systemic racism are much more political issues than helping people during a flood. This isn’t hard.

There *is* another side. Some of the same people praising Watt for fundraising normally hate the idea of people receiving unearned welfare for their personal hardships. It is absolutely political. Do you think any of these people would be lauding Watt if he were funding rent for single mothers who work at McDonald’s? Flood victims (and I say the following feigned vulgarity as a Houstonian) could have purchased flood insurance, decided not to live in hurricane-prone or flood prone-areas, or had their houses more adequately protected. Most of White America has decided to regard natural disasters as apolitical touchstones to highlight American Grit, fawn over first responders and compliment itself on rallying together to help each other. Hurricane relief is generic and neutral not on its face, but *because* White people have normalized it as good and necessary. Black America sees the man-made disasters of police brutality and incomplete application of our constitutional rights as more deleterious, more constant, and more obvious than occasional wind and water. These things are no more ‘alleged’ than Harvey.

Skip Bayless chaps my ass. Sometimes he gets it, but damn if he doesn’t always try to play to the other side and people love it because he always prefaces his bullshit with, “I don’t know because I’m a white guy, but...”

Shannon is doing the Lord’s work over at Fox Sports. I also had my doubts about watching another black man on anything Fox related, but he has been nothing short of amazing to watch on that network. I think he was called to his work and this platform is honestly, truly, the best usage of his voice. Also, Fuck Shitlock and the horse he rode in on.

Good for Shannon! Woke he is!

(I just wish he’d work on his diction some... but he is improving) and his comparison to JJ Watt is the truth....

I don’t mind his diction. The man is country. Let him be country.

-A country person who had her use of “finna” ridiculed by trifling MFs in DC with their turrible ass “accents” that are ALWAYS present.

Can we notify the national news media that Colin Kapernick is not “protesting the National Anthem” or “protesting the flag” or “ protesting {Insert War, Military, White People}” and that he is protesting the unfair and race-based treatment of Black people by police, and ostensibly America as a whole? I don’t understand why the message can’t be reported correctly. Thank you, rant over.

Shannon Sharpe is a good deal why I still consider myself a Broncos fan. That and my mothers orange and blue gameday krautburgers.
