if you’re found to be making false accusations, you are charged? What is Betsy talking about?

It has become an article of faith in Conservative circles that men accused of sexual assault on campus are getting the raw end of the deal, and that there are no consequences for those who bring accusations that are unfounded.

I don’t understand women who so obviously hate other women and identify so strongly with men and the patriarchy.

The Atlantic is covering this story but using a black “villain” who’s a “model minority” and the pure as snow white victim

If you just pay attention to the article, the author presents you a case where the administration gets it wrong - and wants you extrapolate that over all 4-5,000 universities in the country. The fact that they lay the blame on Obama is really just par for the course at the Atlantic. Usually they have Coates bash Obama. (not that Obama is beyond critique, I agree with a lot of Ta Nehisi’s gripes).

This isn’t a search for truth, this is advocacy, this is propaganda.

Folks need to read everything more with a critical eye. Less than 10% of reported assault cases are false. Keep in mind the vast majority of cases go unreported. Let’s stoke some racial fires, some misogyny, and but dress it up in terms of “due process”.

They ain’t slick. Lots of us see a con job.

And keep in mind the Atlantic is relatively liberal.

Look if this was just making it so that the identities of both parties were kept anonymous then I can get behind that (in the UK the current rules of open season on the accused and court enforced anonymity on the accuser has led to witch hunts galore in the media, especially after Saville) but given this woman’s track record of nice statement followed by a barrage of shite it’s probably time to get the umbrella out again.

It’s not really that simple. Anonymity is just one aspect. The other is how to address the situation when you have alleged victim/perps who may share classes and living spaces. On the one hand, there is the whole “innocent until proven guilty.” On the other hand, you don’t want a rape victim to share a dorm with her accused rapist until the matter is adjudged months down the road.

I’m willing to bet a billion dollars Devos is not going to have a problem with the accuser sharing the same space because only bad girls get raped.

Don’t most campuses have multiple dorms?

“She also said that a school with a system biased toward finding someone guilty of sexual assault is also guilty of discrimination.”

Well, yes, yes it is, but is this really the bigger problem right now?

I don’t get why rape can’t be treated like any other crime, I really don’t. If you accuse someone of any crime, you should be taken seriously, and if you’re accused of a crime, you are innocent until proven guilty. Why does this whole dynamic break down when it comes to sex?

Dear White Women or The 53% of You That Enabled Trump To Take Office:

At some point you will realize that no matter how many of them you fuck they still view you as property. Congratulations you played yourself. Every black woman in this country should whip your asses for what you have now unleashed on your gender. If you don’t believe they’re coming for your reproductive rights look no further than Kentucky. Oh I know some of you are brain washed into believing that your sole purpose on this Earth is to make men folk happy but most women don’t think in as insular a fashion as you do. So you might want to wake the hell up before The Handmaiden’s Tale becomes your reality.

    Sincerely,

Black Women Who Are Tired Of Your Shit

Straight, white, male, and Christian. If you can’t check all those boxes off, this administration is out to steamroll you. And for some reason if you’re safe this round, religious zealots can always find the next group to ostracize.

Is anyone surprised by this? Betsy Devos is a horrid Stepford Wife on the fritz who doesn’t care about anything but further pushing her twisted stone-age religious views onto public schools and college campuses across the country.

The fact she made it through a confirmation hearing is such an indictment on every Senator in D.C. who voted for her.
