    Despite all the other imagery available TO us, I still say this photo best encapsulates the feel of a Trump Presidency.

    Racist? Sure.

    Bigoted? Yep.

    Unintelligent? Yep.

    But the first thing that jumps out at me, and one thing that even many white folks who voted for Trump would agree with is that it’s so trashy. I’m at a loss for how you could make this more trashy.

    Maybe if a monster truck was parked outside the window, I guess.

    Let’s be real for a second, everything did not change after Charlottesville: Robert Ritchie sucked when he was a culture-stealing rapper. Robert Ritchie sucks as a culture-stealing southern rocker. Kid Rock has always sucked. He could be given the Nobel Peace Prize for bring peace to the Middle East and he would still suck as an artist.

    Now, the real issue here is the idea that Detroit, Michigan, the home of genre-defining musical artists from every type of popular music known to humanity, have to stoop to a dude who’s best track is as blatant a rip-off as has ever been created...a song who’s title should be “That Lynard Skynard Remake” just shows that the very idea of American Culture is an oxymoron.

    This decision is reflective of the gentrification that is happen in Detroit, plain-and-simple. This is an announcement to suburban white people that Detroit is yours once again. Don’t worry about those pesky darkies, like Robert Ritchie, we used them as long as they were useful (we had to screw SOMEBODY out of the money to build this arena), but now the only blacks welcome are the Pistons.

    Come on home!!!

      If you want to send a message to suburban white people, you get Imagine Dragons, Coldplay or Maroon 5.

      Even during Kid Rock’s heyday, you wouldn’t have gone with Kid Rock. You’d have gone with Nickelback, Creed or Smashmouth.

    So when white artists make a foolhardy attempt to be accepted by black people by appropriating their culture to the point of parody and then get ridiculed for it, they conflate that rejection with reverse racial discrimination and self-righteously hate the very people that they tried so hard to impress?

    It’s kinda like how certain guys hate women for not sleeping with them and accuse them of misandry, even though the reason why women don’t sleep with them is because they have boundary issues and don’t treat women like people.
