I really really try to stand by the principle of attacking a belief and not a person’s physical appearance because it just feels wrong to me and well, I’m about to be hypocritical AF, as well as petty.

But what in the ever loving hell is up with this guy’s face? It’s just.... oddly smooth and sort of shaped like an egg and it’s deeply off putting to me. Like it’s Seven Different Kinds of Stephen King Level of creepy. To say NOTHING of the fact that Osteen is a charlatan of the highest order and his actions are the exact opposite of Christ like.

    Anyway. I’m a hypocrite.

I am too. :/ I’m biting my tongue for days and I really don’t like to judge people solely based on appearance, but this dude’s face is just screaming Snake Oil Salesman, it’s not even funny.

Hmm, I must’ve done something wrong, forward the video to 1 hour and 26 minutes as I think his rant starts there.

Why is it always the ones that are skilled at shaking off the “haters” that really need to be listening to them? I wish their ability to look thousands with a straight face and say all that evidence is a lie, now don’t go havin no victim mentality & give all you got left into the collection plate coming around.

I’m sure he *does* want his church turned into a donation center. “$1 for victim, $1 for me. $1 for victim, $1 for me,” (he looks around furtively), “$1 for victim, $5 for me.” These people are all hucksters and con men. No wonder he sounds like Trump. It’s sickening how all of these supposed Christians are stuck to Trump like remora on a shark, while he endorses hatred, bigotry and rips families apart for no good reason.

This fucking liar looks like a Martin Short/frog hybrid that’s been embalmed with hypocrisy.  I’ve seen his ugly face more in the past week than the rest of my lived years combined.

    Puke.

You know, Joel. Someone who believes in the work they are doing probably wouldn’t even notice a critic or two. Especially in a time of crisis. They would just keep on keeping on.

The minute you use the word ‘haters’ tho? The hair on the back of my neck stands up and I start to think maybe those ‘haters’ might have some worthwhile info, ya know? Call it the Streisand Effect or whatever. But I automatically pay more attention when someone reacts to criticism like this, Joel.

To think, there was a time where the Catholic Church split into factions due to the opulence of those saying they were the vessels with which God spoke to his children.

They had an actual conflict between the dogma and the actions of church leaders back then. Osteen preaches the prosperity gospel, which is an entire branch of Christianity devoted to telling yourself that God actually wants you to be rich and you have no reason to feel guilty or conflicted about not giving all to the poor and needy.

Yes, and another similarity is that he’s both dumb and greedy. Had he opened the doors of his church as a shelter for those displaced by the hurricane, do you honestly think he couldn’t have held some sort of mega telethon (that one of the networks probably would have picked up) and raised a fuck ton of money (more than just the $250k he got from Tyler Perry) for his “ministries”? He could be a national hero right now, instead of just another greedy preacher of the prosperity gospel.
