    Unions do a disservice to their good members (who or how many of those there are is another matter) by wasting resources and expending any good will the union might have defending the indefensible. Being a nazi and shooting people in the back are indefensible.

    Any “good” cops should not only be overjoyed in ridding criminal elements from their ranks but will actually be doing their sworn duty to protect the citizens that employ them and entrust them with such an incredible amount of power.

    We are all waiting “good” cops...

     This is the problem with unions and why I’ll never join one. Yes, they do some good, but I’m not a sellout chicken shit and refuse to rationalize joining an organization that exists at the expense of all else, and will defend shitty, incompetent, and racist members until the end.

      I’ve worked and loved working for a union. It was for restaurants in Las Vegas. It is needed for a reason, so don’t blame all unions for being bad.

      This union in philly is awful for protecting all the bad apples.

    In my country, and in just about any European country, anybody with a Nazi tattoo would be fired. The FOP would apologise for ever letting that person join the ranks of police. Well... Must be because the land remembers what it was like to be governed by Nazis.

    In 2012, the Bayreuth opera festival fired Russian singer Evgeni Nikitin : during rehearsal, they discovered that he was sporting a swastika tattoo opn his torso. Case closed.

      1) Well the FOP doesn’t hire or fire.

      2) The US has stronger freedom of expression rights than many other countries. Unfortunately that includes Nazi tattoos and as a government job police have higher protections than one would for a private company. And that’s before union contracts come into play.
