I can’t get over the poetics of seeing these “fringe” white nationalists beating the hell out of us while dressed in polos, button downs and pleated khakis. VSB nailed it earlier this afternoon - this isn’t a fringe ideology, it’s more pervasive than America cares to admit and there are plenty of people who are sympathetic to the notion that ‘white is right’ while lacking the fanatical conviction of bigots on the front line.
Please explain to me, white America, why you think that racism is a problem best solved by everyone keeping their heads down and their mouths close, lest we stir up further animosity from people who would rather see us removed from this country (if not the planet entirely) or, alternatively, from people who don’t care enough about racism to act against the heinous things done in the name of their race?

What is going on with our country? Why does it seem like since the Trump election people are trying to claw back decades of progress? Civil rights, LGBT rights, education, immigration, and let’s throw in a nuclear war. I believed that each generation was supposed to learn from the past and make themselves better but there seems to be a large group that wants to push us back into what?
I just can’t wrap my head around this incindent and how people can just hate for hates sake. I believed that most white supremacist idiots where so so they could have a little club to blame others for their own inadequacies but I though we were past the point in our country where an racially motivated open beating could just occur on city streets.
I don’t know (I also understand this is just shouting into the void) it just feels so hopeless.

  Political progress is always a two steps forward, one step backwards kind of thing. The same lessons have to be learned over and over again because new people keep getting born and refuse to learn from written history so have to learn directly from current events.
  Take heart, the one step back phase we’re currently in usually incites a lot of sleepwalking or clueless liberals into action and then we get back to the two steps forward phase again. Clinton cleaned up after Reagan/Bush I, Obama did so for Bush II and whomever we Democrats elect next will clean up after Trump. I know that doesn’t soothe your troubled mind and/or spirit any more than when I was told my life would be better once out of high school but I’m in the same spot those people were in that I don’t have much else I can offer you other than never stop fighting but you already knew that. And you’re not alone, you’re not shouting into the void.
  It’s crazy where change can from so don’t give up hope. When I was a teenager, I thought I would be an old man before I could marry another man and then whoosh in about a decade it went from something only available in Holland to legal in every state while I was in my mid 30's and not my expected 70's. That day validated all the chaos created by my decision to come out in 1989 when I was 19. Keep fighting and things will keep moving forward.

Hell at least ISIS takes ownership of the results of their hateful ways. At what point will the majority of White America realize watching footage of an enraged white male plowing into innocent people has nothing to do with BLM, President Obama, libtards, commies (i can’t believe some of them still use that phrase, even with putin’s bitch in the WH), the Jews, etc. And they will look at the photos of this young Black man being terrorized by the khaki brigade and say the same shit—butbutOBAMAneversaidthewordIslamicterroristandwhataboutchicago. It’s demonic and like during the civil rights movement, now the entire world sees the majority of white america for what it is.
The only difference between now and the 1950's is the Internet accelerates their groupthink psychosis. At this point Whites who are not racist seem like mutations, like they have not been infected with the hate or apathy virus. I almost feel sorry for decent white people. And when Malcolm said about chickens roosting (i know he had a change of heart afterwards) but he was right—today is a prime example with the young white woman being murdered and other injuries. The evil ones are turning on their own for daring to not hate, and they don’t care about this white woman at all.
