    This is the worst, and most mind-blowing par, to me:

    Jeff Sessions is a guy who describes himself as a “constitutional conservative” and “an advocate for the constitution”. The US Constitution guarantees you the right to a fair trial by a jury of your peers where the standard is proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

    The civil asset forfeiture program is a heinous abrogation of sixth amendment rights. I have no problem with property and money that has been proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, to have come from criminal activity to be seized.

    I absolutely have a problem with the presumption of innocence being ignored, a cornerstone of the United States legal system affirmed in Coffin v. United States.

      If the government doesn’t freeze all their assets and take all their money, they might be able to hire a competent attorney to defend themselves. That would just be unacceptable.

    NPRI also suggests that the practice be abolished and replaced with one that requires a criminal conviction in all cases. This suggestion is right on.

    Jeff Sessions isn’t fooling anyone. By going after marijuana, a low-level drug, and people in poor neighborhoods, he is demonstrating his desire to keep his foot on the neck of poor people, black and brown.

    This is why I so much appreciate Senator Booker’s bill to legalize marijuana.

    I also think it should serve — along with his execrable record as a prosecutor in his own state who deliberately and unconstitutionally targeted specific groups of citizens - as something (no, not sure what specifically under the FRE) that shows his attempts at “reverse racism” to persecute colleges who are practicing actual affirmative action in order to diversify their communities in an effort to benefit American society are in fact horse crap, and they should be thrown out with prejudice and he should be professionally censured for continuing to try it after it had already been deemed impermissible.

    Of course, that would have to happen before Agent Orange successfully packs the courts, as he is continuing to attempt to do (which is one of the most under-covered stories of all their shenanigans but none of the mainstream media seem to want to pay it too much attention given all the other havoc the orange toddler’s malevolent maladministration is trying to wreak).

    If they were going after cartels, then NPRI would not be able to show that the lowest-valued asset forfeiture in Las Vegas amounted to just $.74.

    That’s a nice pack of gum you got there. Would be a shame if something were to happen to it...

    I bet whatever multinational drug cartel they took that loot from was furious.

    I have lived in Alabama all of my life and I can tell you I am NOT a fan of Jeff Sessions at all. He is a lying, racist bigot who thinks we should go back to the days when it was “ok” to call a grown African American man a “boy who better watch how talks to white people” and back to throwing anyone in jail for whatever because in his backwards little mind it will solve everything. This man does NOT care about the people of this country. And though he may be the beloved little elf for most in the state of Alabama I can assure you he’s not beloved by all Alabamians. He’s a snake in the grass people.
