12 hrs of questioning?! That should have been 12 minutes.
    “Is this your residence?”
    “Did this man threaten you?”
“Do you legally own the firearm?”
    ...
“So, you think the Falcons gonna be good this year?”

But I’m sure the NRA will jump in to rip the police for this. /s

I’m thinking a lot of the questions were along the lines of: What kind of criminal activities is your husband involved in for these two men to show up at your house looking for him?

“The small children are now in the care of other family members, and as just normal protocol, the female is now at the police department being interviewed by our detectives,”

It’s long past time to retire this phrase. Shaquita Green is a woman, and should be referred to as such. “Female” is deliberately dehumanizing. A police spokesperson should know better.

Yeah, that really stood out to me as well. Flippin’ hell, is there no humanity even in the damned reporting?

Police spokespeople always manage to sound like a Reddit post come to life.

Anybody wants in on a bet? Will the NRA comment on the “Green Shooting”??? There supporters might say eventually.

    My cynicism says otherwise.

They’ll use it as one of their “good guy with a gun stories” but their generic version won’t mention names, acknowledge that Mrs. Green is a woman of color, or in any other way support her personal right to defend herself.

And if she’s charged with anything, there won’t be a peep or so much as a sideways glance at her from the NRA.

“I hate that someone had to lose their life, but he shouldn’t have come and brought his ass in my house, excuse my language.”

He got what he deserved, and she owes no apologies, not even for her language.

I kind of love that she excused herself for her language in that context.

Yeah, haven’t you heard? People don’t need guns! Their only purpose is to shoot babies in the face.

They will go out of their way to charge her with some ridiculous thing and if they can’t find something, they’ll involve child services in her life for the next year.
