White people aren’t even trying to hide the double standard at this point are they?

How many black people have died, and not one person in the higher police power structure issued an apology, less were punished years later. But in this case of this “innocent’ white woman, the investigation isn’t even complete and heads are beginning to roll?

Has America gotten so brazen that institutionalized racism has again become open and notorious?

I mean its impossible to deny it at this point (but I am sure white people will try).

      Rhetorical question, right?

This is what “making America great again” means. Open racism is in full effect. Whites don’t even try to pretend to care about black people anymore.

Nah. We’re used to it. It’s just another police shooting.

What you’re experiencing now is the outrage most of us felt after Terence Crutcher, Alton Sterlin, Philando Castile, Sam Dubose, Jordan Edwards and many, many others who were killed for by police for no apparent reason.

After you’ve been through a few dozen of these where the victim is painted as the criminal and the police officer gets off without consequences...you’ll adjust to it too.

The wypipo are out in full force today.

Why are you lot up in arms. You’re supposed to be waiting for the full story. We don’t know what happened. She was likely doing something she shouldn’t have. She shouldn’t have approached the cop car because they startle easily and it’s more important that the police go home at the end of the shift than it is for her to have survived the encounter with them.

      Did I miss anything?

She probably did drugs at some point. Plus she wasn’t even a US citizen. How do we know she wasn’t here illegally?

“When asked for comment on the national outrage over an innocent person killed by police just before their nuptials, Sean Bell did not respond.”

    This is everything.

Everything else aside for a minute, I find it super weird that this woman is constantly referred to as a “bride-to-be” or “woman about to be married” in the headlines. Like it has any bearing on the situation whatsoever, or it would somehow be less tragic if she wasn’t about to tie the knot. Like, has a single headline ever read “Man about to be married murdered in drive-by” unless it was literally the day of the wedding?

Apparently her life wouldn’t matter if she were single. What if she were a Black married woman?

Nahhh, I’m just kidding. Everyone is outraged because a black, Muslim officer killed a white woman.

    Hit. Nail. On. Head.

It’s been quite a day for white people ‘quitting’ after they get fired.

I’m in Australia, and the story’s playing big over here. The interviews are playing clips of the white neighbors sobbing that “It could have been any one of us!” and freaking out that they no longer feel safe interacting with cops, and Australians are saying how terrible it all is and how glad they are our police aren’t like that.

Yesterday in Western Australia a white man was acquitted of manslaughter for running over a 14-year old Aboriginal boy. The boy was riding an off-road motorbike the man recognised as having been stolen from him, and the man chased child and motorbike along dirt tracks in his 4WD with the stated aim of trying to make him fall off. Instead, the boy zigged when this psychopath expected him to zag, and bike and car met with such force that the bike was broken into three pieces. The boy died instantly.

The fucker was convicted of Dangerous Driving Causing Death, but was somehow acquitted of manslaughter. I’m trying to find out if there’s some technical reason this atrocity doesn’t quite fit the legal definition of manslaughter, but I’m pretty resigned to the reason being “The majority of the jury were racist fucks who didn’t want a white man to get into too much trouble for killing a black child”.

I used to live in the town where this kid died and I’m gutted. I can’t imagine how the Aboriginal community feels. He deserved better but white Australians are racist as fuck.

The suffering the Aboriginal communities in Australia has endured gets little traction in the international sphere.

It gets damn little traction in the Australian sphere. Indigenous people were never officially enslaved, but they have had to endure horrific violations of their human rights that started the day of white settlement. I am so goddamn angry about this latest atrocity but I just don’t know what to do.

I want to say that this is unbelievable, but it’s not.

And of these two groups: Black Lives Matter and “All” “Lives” “Matter” who has maintained a constant and vigilant discussion on police brutality and who has decided to get real fucking quiet right about now?
