      I don’t know why any team would look at Rose. He has been a shell of himself for years now, and surely there are cheaper, not broken down players around to take his place.

    He idolized Kobe and this is right out of the Kobe playbook. Too bad he’s not nearly good enough to lead a team to even a decent playoff run. Great scorer but literally does nothing else.

      One of the teams mentioned by Irving to Gilbert apparently was San Antonio, so it’s hard for me to think he’s entirely looking to be the “focal point”. Unless he’s delusional enough to think he’ll unseat Leonard for that roll.

      I’m not sure they can swing the math contract-wise, but they’re a team that could use an additional scorer and Popovich did pretty good at turning Tony Parker into a reasonably strong point guard when he started out as a poor point guard but a great slashing scorer.
