I really, really dislike OJ for a variety of reasons; primary amongst them the fact that he simply enjoys not being seen as part of and not contributing to the black community. But—I am glad that he got parole. If there was no gun involved he would’ve never gone to prison to begin with. Hard to call it theft when I’m retrieving my own sh!t. Ultimately, someone is looking out for him & he will be free soon. I hope that he TRULY learns his lesson & sits df DOWN this time. No more fame or power thirsty antics. In this Trump-presidential era he can get hurt.

I do enjoy that everyoen forgets the gun, which adds a whole another things with the kidnapping charges. Anyways the troll on this thing was the judge giving him concurrent sentence.

To hear White people tell it O.J. is responsible for ex-wife Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman’s death

I mean, it’s not just White people saying it, it’s literally OJ himself:

I was discussing this book with my mom this morning when we were talking about his parole hearing. His writing this book was the trolliest of all trolls.

Have you read the book? The piece that covers the actual killing is the most horrifying part. I’m almost certain he has some type of identity issue from years of CTE.

Also, he must have done it as I can’t imagine he’s as good of a true-crime writer as the author of the book. Maybe a good story-by with a ghost writer?

Wait, only white people think OJ was responsible for the death of his ex-wife and her boyfriend? He straight up murdered them. He got away with it because, and I know this is hard to believe for the young writers and commentators here, we were far closer to full-on race war rioting then than we are now. California was deathly scared of seeing more riots. After the riots from acquitting the cops that beat King there was no way in hell the white judiciary was going to risk putting one of the most beloved black men in the country into jail. Shit, it was televised and turned into a spectacle just to say, look black folks you do get a fair shake in trial. It was a farce.

People forget that. I was an adult at the time and I remember watching the riots on TV and being horrified. I remember thinking that between that and the fact that he could afford high powered lawyers, he would probably be acquitted. It may very well have been a farce, but even all these years later, I still think it was probably the right call.

Ummmm he got off because the lead investigator committed perjury and the handling of DNA evidence was awful.

Trump’s America? Shit. With this bunch of dickholes, OJ is Cabinet material.

Trump will name him “Secretary of Not Killing Your Ex Wife.” Then he’ll ‘joke’ that “It would be great if OJ were to kill Marla and Ivanna.”

Exactly. “OJ Paroled” is a perfect example of this orange fuckwit’s day and age. The people who back trump have plans. Plans to fuck over everyone whos not rich and white, but plans nonetheless.

Donny dumbass, on the other (tiny)hand, has no fucking clue what is going on or why it is happening. Celebrity and reality TV were major reasons behind his election and OJ fits the concept like a glove.

I think most black people realized that OJ was a sellout who distanced himself from us but they supported him because we where offended by the self righteous outrage of white america. The idea that one of us could get away with obviously being responsible for the deaths of two of them messed with their minds! Never mind all the blacks who have been killed and never received justice!

It’s one thing to take a grim sort of satisfaction at sticking it in the eye of a group of oppressors. I get it. But some of the video shots of people cheering?

Those folks are, full stop, terrible human beings.

I always found this befuddling to me. OJ was huge in all of America. He never made any noise for Black Nationalism, etc. as did Jim Brown, but it seemed, at least if watching CNN that black america at the time was inthralled with the idea of his innocence. I am curious Baxter, as to what you mean by your statement of “self righteous outrage of white america”. Is it that we cared about this case but not cases of blacks being found guilty who were innocent and railroaded? If so, that is a legitimate point to make. However, I think the outrage, to the extent it existed was that the evidence was so clearly shown beyond a reasonable doubt as to his guilt, was because blacks cheering for his victory had to know he did the murders. In other words, cheering for someone getting away with murder is more disgusting then that some unknown person getting railroaded in the courts, which happens every day but is not the subject of 24 hour cable news.

I tend to think his release has a lot more to do with him being so old than it does anything else.

If he were younger, they could probably justify keeping him because the odds of recidivism would be higher and all that stuff.

Let’s see, you get convicted of stealing stuff that belongs to you. In a later court proceeding he actually gets the stuff. You are charged with armed robbery, without actually having a weapon. Get more time than the people that actually had weapons for stealing stuff that was yours. See this is how Orange got elected.
