Of course Sessions isn’t going to resign. Trump has certain things that he wants Sessions to implement (related to Muslims and immigration) but largely Sessions has free reign to be the kind of racist law and order Conservative that has been Alabama’s chief export since it’s inception.
Ramping up the war on drugs? Oh yeah. Sending federal inmates back to private prisons? You better believe it! Stealing private property from people even ACCUSED of drug crimes? We might as well call that Sessions-ing.

  Honestly? I think the GOP has largely passed Sessions by. I know that seems weird to say but Sessions is a hard-liner on immigration (which the business wing of the GOP hates), he’s the last soldier in the War on Drugs (even the GOP sees this is a losing issue), and he seems to want to openly antagonize Black people (the GOP wants to do that more subtly).

“Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself, which, frankly, I think is very unfair to the President,” Trump said, referring to himself. “How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair — and that’s a mild word — to the President.”
In a weird way, I find it a little comforting that Trump obviously has no idea how any of this shit works.

I’ve come to the realization that it’s impossible to interview Trump without him blasting out his complete lack of knowledge of how government is supposed to work and saying something that is borderline treasonous. “Well, shit, if I had known Sessions wouldn’t have been a dependable crony I wouldn’t have appointed him.” I certainly don’t mean that as a defense of Sessions. He’s not taking a morally obligated stance, he’s trying to save his own deplorable ass, but Trump keeps publicly saying and doing the most wildly inappropriate shit it bogggles the mind.

When Trump started talking about how much Sessions frustrates him, I briefly considered hating Sessions a little less. Then he started pushing maximum sentences, marijuana prosecutions, and civil forfeitures, and was right back to 100% hate.
He is just so hate-able: Racist, stupid, ignorant, full of shitty ideas.... even dopey-looking, inarticulate, unethical and untruthful. How could I not hate him?
