    I hope reforming debtor’s prisons and civil asset forfeiture are next. It’s insane that you can be charged room and board for your time in prison and still be sent to prison for failing to pay fees related to your arrest.

    What did she do about bail when she was a prosecutor? What did she do about bail when she was CA attorney general? She spends her whole career in state government abusing the system just like any other prosecutor, and now, at the federal level (where she can’t do shit about state bail practices) she acts like she cares.

    Fuck that.

      Are you opposed to bail reform?

      If Donald Trump suddenly wanted to implement “Medicare for all” I’d put my hatred of him on hold, to support him in that specific endeavor.

      Likewise, you don’t have to forgive or forget Harris’s past neglect to support what she’s doing.

      I’m in favor of bail reform.

      I’m opposed to pretending it’s a federal problem that congress can solve. I’m opposed to pretending that someone who has spent her entire career dedicated to making sure that California’s prisons are more than full is suddenly a reformer.

      If Donald Trump suddenly said “Medicare for all,” I’d have to be really fucking stupid to take that at face value.
