You’re at work, do your job. If you want to make a statement do it on your own time. When all these service jobs are automated it’s going to be problematic.

What if he refused to serve a gay couple?

If he refused to serve a gay couple, a significant percentage of the american population would aggressively support and defend him. Probably including most of the people bitching about this particular incident.

      The same thing?

I’d confirm the kid’s address is correct and tell him he can expect his final paycheck in the mail.

Hey, he could have collapsed and died of low blood sugar in 10 - 14 days. Police have a hard job.

More likely the hysterics are because a cop had to pay for a meal for once. Cops always expect free food and deferential service.

I understand this world isn’t Candyland, but bullshit like this pushes the divide further and further between police officers and civilians. Yes, there are quite a few fucking shitty people out there that wear uniforms. But not all. Group all officers together and it just encourages that “us against them mentality” that we stereotype them for having. But to treat someone who puts their life on the line like someone less than you, is only going to make YOU look like the ass. Everyone would be up in arms if the roles were reversed. Hopefully this is a good officer without an agenda, and a deeper level of understanding than the dipshit working the drive-thru.

But to treat someone who puts their life on the line

You don’t get a cookie for doing the job you signed up for. You don’t get a happy meal either. An officer can call themselves “a good officer” after they can show they’ve taken down a bad one, but until then you’re just a plain old officer who’s failed to prove they aren’t complicit with the blue wall of silence.

When the ‘good cops’ start outing the ‘bad cops’ and protecting the public from the systemic abuse that police agencies commit against minorities and the poor... we can start segregating them. Until then, they are all blue, and they are all guilty.

“The guy said, ‘I ain’t serving no police’ and closed the window. The guy proceeded to tell everyone in McDonald’s, including the manager, that he was not going to serve the police.”

    ...

“This is such an eye opener for me as to what the people who protect us have to go through on a daily basis,” she wrote. “Please pray for the men and women who serve and protect us and put their lives on the line for us each and every day.”

First they stopped serving me at McDonalds, and I did not speak out-
Because I do not eat McDonalds.

Then they stopped serving me at Dunkin Donuts, and I did not speak out-
Because I do not eat Dunkin Donuts...

    Dear Police,

You want to be treated like a special class of citizen, as if you were born with a badge on your chest? Welp, be prepared to be treated like Americans treat “special classes.”

Yep, if they’re “heroes” then they should act like “heroes.” They seems to selectively be “heroes” or timid people that would jump (or shoot at) their own shadows.

Ah, yes. Not getting a Filet o Fish from one person is so hard on them. I can’t imagine the emotional scars they bear. Can we take a moment to talk about how pervasive racism impa-...no? Okay.

You always hear about bigots being afraid of being treated the way they treated minorities in the past. Blue Lives Matter seriously wants you to believe that’s what is happening as demographics change. And the martyrdom fetish (though “martyr” might not be the right word for people who walk away after killing someone because “I feared for my life”) is getting old fast.

I’ve worked at enough businesses where cops were given a free ride whenever they showed up in uniform. I remember my Blockbuster years ago gave cops a free movie if they were going to rent one already.

I recall not serving a frequent off-duty because he didn’t have his license with him (when he was driving), the manager got so mad at me, but look where Blockbuster is now. Dead.

Everytime I hear a story like this I think of this local bullshit that circulated

I laugh out loud every time I picture a synchronized kitchen singing Fuck The Police, fu-fu-fuck the police and all
