This seems like a job for white folks and the All Lives Matter crew.

    For the grays:
No, I don’t give a fuck about this white woman being killed by the police. Spare me the, “Don’t be mad when somebody black is killed by police and white people don’t care!” You fuckers have shown us repeatedly that you don’t care. For centuries. The next one won’t change your mind because Judy here lost her life.

Black people are killed all the time by police and when we ask for just a bit of sympathy and understanding we’re met with overt racism, ignorance, and indifference. Sucks for her family, but I doubt their settlement will be called the ghetto lottery.

Unless their nationalism matters more than their whiteness so they don’t show up. I doubt that’ll be the case, but it’d be some delicious wypipo hypocrisy (wypipocrisy??).

And here they are with the whine missing the point:

“Devaluing human life based on the color of someone’s skin is a perfect example of racism. Congrats.”

Okay, and? Black peoples’ lives are devalued every fucking day and I don’t see you doing a damn thing to fix that, but the second a black woman doesn’t whip out her tit to soothe a white person’s pain...racism!

As we all know: “fuck everybody until I get mine” is always a winning strategy. Keep up the great work.”

Works for white people and you don’t whine then, so don’t whine now. Just when did black people get ours? Hell, you fuckers whine about Affirmative Action because you think having black skin is all it takes. So I guess this is reverse Affirmative Action? Whatever the fuck it takes for you to see why this is wrong and the hundreds of black people killed by officers isn’t. Maybe she should have complied.

      Dismissed!

I do not understand why police CHOOSE to use deadly force with every call?? They are supposed to be skilled at de-escalation and taught to shoot to maim, or disarm, so why no deploy these tactics. Every person is not the boogeyman. I just do not get it. It’s senseless violence and we allow these bastards to claim after the fact “I feared for my life”? Really?

That’s TV. Most police officers in this country get less than 20 weeks training (about the amount of training required to be an Esthetician) and most of that is what kind of tickets they can write. They are mostly definitely are not trained to shoot to do anything else but kill (shooting to center mass) and they are trained to dominate any situation. That’s the opposite of de-escalation.

All people to cops (and the justice system) are criminal masterminds out to fuck shit up and kill folks. We have decided as a society that we can give discretion to cops to inflict massive harm and never be held accountable because...cops? The fact that it plays out in a racialized hierarchy is no surprise in this white supremacist system, but sometimes it’ll be a white lady too.

“We have few facts at this point,” she said. “I want to know more. I call on the BCA to share as much information with all of us as quickly as they can.

Why is the mayor asking for them to “share” information? She’s the fucking MAYOR. She should have it before anyone else.

Unless they’re trying to get their story together first, which seems more likely.

i think it’s because the BCA (the investigating agency here) is a state agency, and she’s just the mayor.

I don’t understand. Isn’t the BCA the reason they have so few facts in the first place? What information are they going to be able to share?

If I’m understanding this correctly, this is a higher end neighborhood. Cops probably thought all they’d be doing is harassing Black people so they didn’t need the camera on for that.

ETA: Apparently the BCA is a state agency. Still not sure what info they will have what with no video available at all and all.

I remember a few months ago cops all over Miami, when the weather was nicer kept popping their hoods. This was around the time they were complaining that they were unintentionally blocking the dash cams with an excuse of “Our cars get really hot, so we need to keep them cool by popping the hood!”
Now, it’s the middle of summer, it’s burning hot outside, and I haven’t seen a single one of them pop their hoods no more.
Me thinks the people have spoken.

This excuse works really well in a city that has never hit 100 degrees F in history.

That may be CO-related. I believe there’s a problem with the Ford Explorers and a few cops have had CO poisoning from sitting with the car idling.

That would be a good reason, but I suspect they were just blocking their cameras in Miami.

    Black cop shoots white woman?

Yeah he’s fucked. Now’s going to be the time that white America demands “accountability” from police.

All the wrong lessons are going to be learned from this incident. Instead of this being a referendum on deadly and improper police tactics, this is going to morph into “see this is what happens when you integrate Muslims into your cities.”

This is just the evolution of police violence against POC that has been allowed to go virtually unchecked forever. Now it’s starting to leak over into the mainstream

    Makes no damn sense.

Yup. When you escalate and militarize the police to the point where they have nearly unlimited power over life and death, occasionally the violence will spill over from the communities of color you use them as guard dogs against and hit one of your own. Tragic but unsurprising.

Bodycams off and all other video vanished.

Sounds more like a gangland execution than it does police action, but then that is what most cops are these days; just another gang terrorizing the community.

I don’t understand why people in the US would call the police. Bringing a nervous and easily startled, undertrained individual with an itchy trigger finger into an already volatile situation seems like a bad idea.

There needs to be an automatic firing of any cop who turns off a body camera or interferes with any other camera. Make the police chief totally responsible and this will end.

“I hope and pray this is a wake-up call for the community to stop being divided by race and socioeconomic status ... for treating everybody with respect.”

This is a call for the community to fucking drag the police, not for them to sing Kumbaya.

The community didn’t shoot Justine Damond. The police did.

We should wait until all the facts are out before we pass judgement. Has anyone looked into her background? Maybe she was high and scared the officers? Was she speaking too loudly when she approached the vehicle? Maybe she was an avid listener of Hip-Hop music, was she wearing a hoodie? Does she have any prior convictions? Did she pay her taxes? Australian? Was she here legally?

Did I cover everything? These questions are usually asked when it’s a POC murder by police.....
